las siguientes páginas presentaremos aquellas estadísti
cas más relevantes a la hora de evaluar y pronosticar las
transformaciones climáticas de nuestro planeta.
Comenzaremos entrevistando a Antonio Martínez, Sub
director General de Estadísticas de Medioambiente,
Agrarias y Financieras delINE, que tratará de cómo la es
tadística puede ser un instrumento efectivo para propor
cionar información sobre las consecuencias de la acción
humana en el cambio climático. En la sección de La Nota,
Felipe Fernández, coordinador del Grupo Geoclima-UAM,
nos introduce en la importancia y el impacto del cambio
climático para nuestra sociedad. El primero de los artícu
los, firmado por José M, Rueda-Cantuche, de la Comisión
Europea, explica cómo han evolucionado las emisiones
de la UE dentro del contexto mundial en los últimos
años. A continuación, Jordi Roca de la Universidad de
Barcelona, nos detalla cuáles han sido los principales
acuerdos internacionales en lo que respecta al cambio
climático y sus principales objetivos y problemas. En el
siguiente de los artículos, Ana Luisa Solera y Antonio
Martínez, del Instituto Nacional de Estadística, analizan
la metodología y los objetivos de las cuentas medioam
bientales y de emisiones a la atmósfera desarrolladas por
eIINE. La evolución de las emisiones de gases de efecto
invernadero derivadas del uso de la energía en España y
los efectos explicativos de su variación se analizan en el
artículo firmado por Vicent Alcántara y Emilio Padilla de
la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. También, Móni
ca Serrano de la Universidad de Barcelona, expone en su
artículo las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero se
gún la tipología de los hogares españoles. Desde la Ofici
na Catalana del Canvi Climatic, Salvador Samitier i Martí,
Sheila Román e lñaki GiIi desarrollan la importancia de
los inventarios de emisiones de gases de efecto inverna
dero para evaluar las medidas adoptadas frente al cam
bio climático. Por último, Luis M~ Saez de Jáuregui nos
ofrece una visión del riesgo del cambio climático desde el
punto de vista de las empresas aseguradoras.
