Introduction Un verbo preposicional (más conocido como frasal) es un tipo de verbo compuesto por dos o más palabras.
La primera palabra es un verbo en su forma original, y la segunda es una preposición o adverbio.
En inglés, se utilizan intensamente en el habla cotidiana, siendo necesario conocerlos para alcanzar un nivel avanzado de Speaking y Listening.
1. Find out. Sig: Descubrir, enterarse. I need to find out a way out! We will finally find out the answer. You just found out that the solution was easy.
2. Figure out. Sig: Resolver, solucionar, descifrar. I figured out the math equation The police didn’t figure out who stole the money. Cientists are trying to figure out the mistery.
3. Get rid of. Sig: Deshacerse de / sacarse de encima algo Get rid of that! You need to get rid of those clothes! I’m trying to get rid of that problem.
4. Bring up. Sig: Mencionar / Criar Don’t bring up ther fight again, please. Their grandparents brought them up. I’ll have to bring up my children in England.
5. Call off. Sig: Cancelar algo planeado / Detener algo They decided to call off the wedding. Hey! Call off your dog! It’s attacking my cat! They had to call off the rocket launch.
