14.3 Hexadecimal: Sistema numérico el cual utiliza diezciseis símbolos, estos son: 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,B,C,D,E,F. Utilizando la combinación de estos símbolos también podemos representar cualquier cantidad. Una de las ventajas del sistema hexadecimal es la facilidad para convertir el mismo al sistema binario.

15.3 Hasta ahora hemos aprendido sólo uno (binarios positivos sin signo) de los varios sistemas numéricos binarios. En este curso aprenderemos dos sistemas numéricos binarios. Estos son: Binarios positivos sin signo y Binarios en “two’s complement”.

15.4 Binarios positivos sin signo: En esta notación numérica todos los números son positivos, no se utilizan signos (no hay que colocar signos de +/-) y no existen números negativos.

15.5 Binarios en “two’s complement”: En esta notación numérica permite representar números positivos y números negativos. El bit en la posición 8 (extrema izquierda) indica el signo y ese bit también es parte de la magnitud del número.

En “two’s complement”siempre que el valor binario comience con 1 indica que el número es negativo (-).

¿Cómo se puede diferenciar un número binario en “two’s complement” de un número binario positivo sin signo?
La única manera de identificar un número que utiliza notación binaria es que lo indique explícitamente (que tenga las siglas bin o tc).

15.6 Convierta de “two’s complement” a decimal: Si el número en “two’s complement” es positivo conviertalo a decimal de la misma forma que convierta de positivo binario sin signo a decimal.

Si el número en “two’s complement” es negativo (recuerda que el bit en la posición 8 indica el signo.) es necesario cambiarlo a “two’s complement” positivo antes de proceder a cambiarlo a decimal.
Cambie un número de “two’s complement” negativo a
positivo de la siguiente forma: 1. Determine el primer complemento (pc) (invertir los 1’s a
0’s y los 0’s a 1’s)2. Determine el segundo complemento (sc) (sume 1 al primer
complemento).
