the verb is perhaps the most important part of the sentence. a verb or compound verb asserts something about the subjet of the sentence of the and express actions events, or states of being. the verb or compound verb is the critical element of the predicate of a sentence.-In each of the following sentences, the verb or compound verb is highlighted:
Dracula bites his victims on the neckThe verb “bites” describes the action Dracula takes.
In early October, Giselle will plant twenty tulip bulbs.Here the compound verb “will plant” describes an action that will take place in the future.

Si el sujeto es 3ª persona del singular se le añade una "-s" al verbo.
Veamos como ejemplo la conjugación del verbo "to live" (vivir) en presente simple

"-y" se añade "-es" en lugar de "-s para la 3ª persona del singular Veamos a continuación algunos ejemplos:

Pero cuidado si la "-y" es precedida por una vocal, la tercera persona se forma con una "-s" (desinencia estándar)

Son los que en general forman el pasado y el participio pasado

- Reglas Básicas:* Si el infinitivo del verbo termina en "e", se le añade una "d": Ej: absolve / absolved* Si el infinitivo del verbo termina en "y" precedido de consonante, se cambia la "y" por "i" y se le añade "-ed". Los verbos irregulares (como su nombre
indica) no siguen ninguna norma para formar el pasado, por lo que deben aprenderse "memorizando" o bien practicando su uso a través de ejercicios específicos
What are irregular verbs?
Los verbos modales son verbos auxiliares que no
pueden funcionar como un verbo principal, una diferencia de los verbos auxiliares "ser", "hacer" y "tener".
Los verbos modales expresan modalidad. Pueden expresar habilidad, posibilidad, necesidad u otra condición. Son verbos auxiliares del futuro y del condicional. Los tiempos verbales ingleses no son suficientes para expresar ideas de posibilidad o incertidumbre. No existe un tiempo verbal del condicional en inglés

Como “could”, se usa “may” para indicar
posibilidades en el futuro.Ejemplos: You may leave if you like.(puede salir si quiere)

Ejemplos: ( forma positiva) You could be mine (tu podrias ser mia) (forma negativa) I couldn’t sleep last night (no pude dormir anoche)

utiliza “will” para formar el tiempo futuro También el uso de “will” significa voluntad o
determinación. Ejemplos: I will help you (Te ayudare)

Se usa “might” para indicar posibilidades en
el presente o el futuro. En estos casos, es un sinónimo de “may”
Ejemplos: It might rain later (puede llover mas tarde).

Se usa “shall” como “will” para formar el
tiempo futuro. El uso de “shall” es mucho más común en el Reino Unido y en general es más educado.
Ejemplos: Chris sall be happy to see you (chris estara feliz de verte)

Should” indica una obligación o recomendación.
Refleja una opinión sobre lo que es correcto. Se traduce como el condicional de “deber” en español.
Ejemplos: You should go to the doctor Deberias ir al doctor

Ought to” es un sinónimo de “should”. Ejemplos
