SPANISH DEMON

D.O. Ca RIOJA

The Rioja DO was the first to be established in Spain. It’s located in the Ebro valley, protected by Sierra de Cantabria Mountain, in la Rioja Alavesa

region.

The climate is affected by Atlantic and by Mediterranean influences (40mm/year), which increase as one goes down the Ebro River.

The soils are composed of clay-limestone and the vineyards are made up of terraces and small parcels.

The main grape variety is Tempranillo, although there are plantings of Garnacha, all with low yields. Recently the winery planted 10 ha of the unique white grape variety Tempranillo

Blanco.
