AORIST (SIGMÀTIC I RADICAL)

L’aorist expressa un fet que ha tingut lloc en el passat.

: “educà, va educar” – (passat simple i passat perifràstic)

“educó” – (pretérito indefinido- en castellà)

Consideracions prèvies:

- el verb grec estava estructurat primer en tres temes oposats entre sí per l’aspecte de l’acció:

- present: aspecte duratiu de l’acció, sigui al present o al passat.

- aorist: aspecte puntual, (o neutre) en qualsevol moment de l’acció, sigui al

començament, durant el desenvolupament, o al final de l’acció.

- perfet: aspecte resultatiu, expressa el resultat d’una acció prèvia

- Més endavant sorgirà un quart tema, el futur, amb valor temporal

- Aquestes quatre formes – temes, ens donen l’enunciat d’un verb:

AUGMENT (repàs)

És una característica pròpia dels temps de passat en mode indicatiu: imperfet, aorist (i pretèrit

plusquamperfet)

Si el verb comença en consonant:

ε davant l'arrel del verb (augment sil·làbic): ἔβυσαἔπεισα Si el verb comença en vocal:

- la vocal inicial del verb s’allarga (augment temporal) ἤλπισα

Els allargaments possibles són els següents: augment (-) + vocal / diftong

Si el verb és compost amb preverbi, l’augment es col·loca entre el preverbi i l’arrel

Els preverbis acabats en vocal la perden normalment davant de la de l'augment

ἐτέλει. πρῶτον μὲν οὖν ἐπέταξεν αὐτῷ τοῦ Νεμέου λέοντος τὴν δορὰν κομίζειν: τοῦτο δὲ
