The idea behind this model was to make it look fearsome - adrenalised. Lips pulled back, teeth out and claws out, ready to attack. So I want to keep all the detail, although it may be too much. Most origami wild cats are just standing there as if they are posing for a photoshoot for Vogue. Very few actually make me feel like they could kill something. That's what I was going for here... Even if it doesn't turn out well, I hope at least it offers some inspiration to others! Quentin Origami 7a It's getting there Quentin! Great improvements compared to the last one. I have recently worked on a crowching tiger, still a lot of work to be done before I can show anything decent, though the crouching pose is extremely difficult to get right. If I dare to make you a suggestion, the rear leg that's streched backwards would make a more attractive front side for the picture. Roman Diaz 7a Great improvements on the tail! :-) I think i got another point that makes your panther looking less fearsome than you want it to be. The teeth and lips are fine, but the pose you put the animal into looks more like it is ready to maks. jump on a tree. Perhaps you could make some progress towardsa more "hunting-like" pose with reverse folding he rear legs inanother direction...

look at this hunting puma here:

7aI agree with much of what has been said-I think the pose is great, but it does look more like a crouching, stealthy approach ratherthan about to pounce-it is because of the leg stretched back. Itgives the panther a fantastic sense of movement, but it should betensed like the other leg if it is about to pounce.

I think the paws would look fine if you just curl the claws down, asJoseph suggested.

Really this model has come a long way-the tail looks much betterand it is almost there!

7aThank you all for the suggestions, it is much appreciated!Quentin Origami

7aExcellent pose - though I think it does say "stalking" and not"pouncing" to me.

Also, I have to admit that the head first made me wonder if thiswas a saber tooth tiger, and then perhaps a mythical creature witha combined cat/asian-dragon head. :) I think the teeth might be abit too long, and I'm not sure origami is a medium in which to tryto approximate something of the relative scale of whiskers. Whichare, after all, individual hair-sized...

And I don't think cats can stick their claws out much while they'rewalking, only when they're grabbing something. (The physicalmechanism that pulls the claws out is a lot like what has tohappen for a human to try to make your fingers act like claws.)Unless they tense up the "grabbing" muscles, the claws stayretracted. (I'm assuming big-cat anatomy is identical to small-cat,here; could be wrong.) You could use that extra paper to makethe paws more massive, maybe? Big cats have amazingly largepaws...

7athat is sooo amazing!! you should make like a rodent orsomething and make look like the panther is about to pounce onit or something.. like a little scene, but other than that it lookssuperawsometerrificlyamazing!
