SGD La Granja lleva más de 250 años fabricando vidrio, transformando las materias primas en piezas de formas atrevidas y llenas de luz.

Desde las hermosas lámparas que sirvieron para adornar los salones del Palacio de La Granja, fabricadas a mediados del siglo XVIII, hasta las complicadas piezas que constituyen el techo de la biblioteca del moderno Museo Reina Sofía de Madrid, muchos hombres y mujeres han trabajado con nosotros durante generaciones con un objetivo inalterado: calidad e innovación.

El vidrio prensado tiene una larga tradición en SGD La Granja. En sus orígenes de un modo casi artesanal para fabricar bloques sencillos, baldosas, tejas de vidrio y ceniceros, y desde hace varias décadas con los más modernos y automatizados medios de producción.

From the beautiful lamps that served to decorate the halls of the Royal Palace

of La Granja, made about the middle of the XVIII century, to the complicated

pieces that constitute the ceiling of the library of the modern Museum Reina

Sofía in Madrid, many men and women have been working with us throughout

generations with a permanent objective: quality and innovation.

The pressed glass has a long tradition in SGD La Granja. In its origins,

solid blocks, pavers, roof tiles and ashtrays were made in an artisan way,

contrasting with the modern and automated production machines used in

the last decades.

1.Preparación del hueco de obra a las medidas previstas para recibir el bastidor de P.V.C. (este bastidor ha de quedar perfectamente ajustado dentro de la obra).Preparation of the work area with the right measures prior to receiving the framework in P.V.C. (this framework must be perfectly adjusted).

2.Cortar el bastidor según las dimensiones previstas a inglete (45º), desmembrando un trozo del ala de los perfiles que forman uno de los ángulos superiores, de manera que permita la introducción de la última hilada de moldeados. Estas alas deberán guardarse para pegarlas una vez finalizada la construcción del tabique.Cut the frame according to the dimensions at 45º angle, dismounting a piece of the framework of the profiles that form one of the superior angles, so that it allows the placing of the last row of glass blocks. These will be kept to stick them back on at the end of the job.

3.Armar el bastidor en el suelo, fijándolo en sus cuatro ángulos mediante escuadras metálicas.Assemble the framework on the floor, fixing the four angles by means of metallic set squares.

4.Situar el bastidor en el hueco para marcar los puntos de fijación a obra. Place the framework in position to mark the fixation points to the rest of the work.

5.Taladrar y situar los tacos de plástico que han de recibir a los tornillos. Drill and fix the stoppers that will receive the screws.

6.Fijación del bastidor a obra (aplomado y nivelado).Fix the framework to the work (levelled out).

7.Colocar la primera fila de moldeados con sus

correspondientes perfiles de juntas verticales.Place the first row of glass blocks with their corresponding vertical profiles.

8.Terminada la primera fila, el acuñado deberá efectuarse al final de cada fila, coincidiendo con la columna por donde se ha previsto la introducción del último moldeado.Having finished the first row, the fixing of the wedges will be made at the end of each row, coinciding with the column where the last block will be placed.

9.Colocación del perfil de junta horizontal.Placement of the horizontal profile joint.

10.Se procederá de igual forma en filas sucesivas.The same procedure will be followed for the rest of the rows.

11.Para colocar la última fila se irán introduciendo los moldeados por el ángulo del bastidor al que previamente se han desmembrado las alas. Cada moldeado de esta fila irá acuñado en la parte superior.The last row will be placed through the area of the angle that was previously removed from the framework. Each glass block of this row will have a wedge fixed to the upper part.

12.El último moldeado se acuñará en la parte superior y en la vertical.The last glass block will receive a wedge both in the vertical and the upper part.

13.Colocar las alas desmembradas con el mismo sellador que se utiliza en las juntas.Place the angle, removed at the beginning from the framework, with the same sealer that is used for the joints.

14.Aplicación de pegamento siliconado.Application of the sealerhardener.

CuñasSerán de madera, sección rectangular, con ancho de 35 mm, espesores variables de 5 a 10 mm, y longitud aproximadamente igual a las juntas verticales.

Puntos de fi jaciónLa fi jación del bastidor a la obra se efectuará mediante tornillos y tacos de plástico. Los tornillos serán de cabeza plana Ø 4 a 5 mm y longitud variable según la holgura entre el bastidor y la obra, colocándose a tresbolillo cada 45 cm aproximadamente.

Dimensiones de utilizaciónDimensiones del hueco de la obra en función del número y tipo de moldeados. La dimensión en el recuadro indica el lado del moldeado al que está referida la dimensión del hueco.

WedgesThey shall be made out of wood, with an angle section of 35 mm width, variable thickness between 5 and 10 mm, and with approximately the same length as the vertical joints.

Fixing pointsThe fi xing of the frame must be made with screws and plastic stoppers. The screws shall have plain head, Ø 4 to 5 mm, and variable length depending on the space between frame and work, placed in a triangular pattern every 45 cm.

Sizes usedThe size of the work should be calculated according to the number and type of glass blocks. The dimensions in the chart show the side of the glass blocks to which the size of the hole is referred.

SGD La Granja promueve y colabora en proyectos y diseños de nueva

creación, haciéndolos posible gracias a un espíritu de innovación, un alto

nivel tecnológico, y a un gran equipo de profesionales.

Valga de ejemplo la pieza de vidrio utilizada en la ampliación del

Museo Nacional de Arte Contemporáneo Reina Sofía, cuyo diseño fue

encomendado al prestigioso arquitecto Jean Nouvel y ejecutado por

Bellapart Engineering.

SGD La Granja fabricó las piezas de vidrio en forma de cubo, utilizados

para formar parte del techo de su nueva biblioteca. Estos cubos, cuya

transparencia permite el paso de la luz, se integran en una bóveda de

acero y vidrio, que hace las funciones de una lámpara natural.

Una de las características más destacadas de estas piezas es el texturado

piramidal de su base, encargado de dispersar los rayos de luz que pasan

por su interior.

Nuestra participación en el proyecto ha abarcado desde el inicio del diseño

hasta su industrialización, trabajando con las herramientas de diseño más

avanzadas y con unos medios de producción específi cos para llevar a

cabo el proyecto.

SGD La Granja promotes and collaborates in projects and designs of

new creation, making them possible thanks to an innovation spirit, a high

technological level and a great team of professionals.

Is worth mentioning the piece of glass used in the extension of the National

Museum of Contemporary Art Reina Sofía, whose design was entrusted to

the prestigious architect Jean Nouvel and it was carried out by Bellapart

Ingineering.

SGD La Granja manufactured pieces of cube-shaped glass, used to

comprise the ceiling of their new library. These cubes, whose transparency

allows the light to pass through, are integrated in a vault of steel and glass,

that works as a natural lamp.

One of the most outstanding characteristics of these pieces is the pyramid-

shape texture of its base, being in charge of dispersing the light rays that

pass through their interior.

Our involvement in the project goes from the beginning of the design to

its industrialization, working with the best design tools and with specifi c

production machinery to carry out the project.

Piezas de vidrio translúcido, macizas o huecas, que se obtienen por el prensado de una masa fundida de vidrio en unos moldes de los que toman su forma. Se destinan a la construcción de pisables y paramentos verticales. Estos bloques de vidrio pueden ser:

- Simples: constan de un solo elemento macizo que ha sido constituido en el molde.

- Dobles: formados por dos elementos independientes que, soldados entre sí, dan lugar a una sola pieza con cámara de aire.

INFORMACIÓN TÉCNICA

Principios generales de colocaciónLos tabiques deberán ir independientes de la obra, mediante una junta de dilatación perimentral. Los redondos de acero (armadura) no deberán estar en contacto con el vidrio, y además, deberán ir totalmente cubiertos por el hormigón. Los tabiques para moldeados simples no podrán ser en ninguna de sus dimensiones superior a 3 m, ni exceder de 6 m2. Los tabiques para moldeados dobles no podrán ser en ninguna de sus dimensiones superior a 5 m, ni exceder de 20 m2 de superfi cie. Pasando de estas dimensiones en ambos casos, deberán fraccionarse en varios paneles, introduciéndose entre ellos juntas de dilatación y estanqueidad.

Mortero Dosifi cación:- 1 volumen de cemento tipo I o II, categoría 35. - 3 volúmenes de arena de río lavada.

Armadura Entre moldeados:1 varilla de Ø 6 mm.

Nervio de mortero Entre Moldeados: 1 cm mínimo.Perimetral: 2 cm mínimo.

Junta de independencia Los paneles irán desligados del resto de la obra, observándose los correspondientes juegos de fondo y teniendo en cuenta las posibles fl exiones de las vigas.

Pieces of clear glass, solid or hollow, that are obtained by pressing of a fused mass of glass in moulds from which they take their form. They are used as fl oors and wall constructions.These can be:

- Simple: They consist of a single solid element that has been constituted in a mould.

General principles of installationThe partition walls should be independent of the brickwork, by means of a surrounding expansion joint. The steel armour should not be in contact with the glass, and, also, it should be completely covered by concrete. The partitions for single glass blocks will not be in any form superior in dimensions to 3 m, neither exceed 6 m2. The partitions for double hollow glass blocks will not be in any of their dimensions superior to 5 m. Neither should they exceed 20 m² in surface. Passing of these dimensions should be fractioned in several panels, introducing expansion joints and watertight.

SETTING IN WORK

SINGLE AND DOUBLE HOLLOW GLASS BLOCKS

Mortar Mix:- 1 volume of cement type I or II, category 35.- 3 volumes of washed river sand.

Mortar between glass blocksBetween: minimum 1 cm.On all sides: minimum 2 cm.

Independent Joints The panels will go untied of the rest of the work, by means of surrounding expansion joints and keeping in mind the possible fl exions of the beams.

JuntasDe independencia y dilatación:Las placas deberán ir desligadas perimetralmente del resto de la obra así como entre ellas.

Nervio de mortero Entre Moldeados: 3, 4 ó 5 cm.Perimetrales: (3 + 1,5 X espesor de la placa) cm.La entrega de la placa en los apoyos será como mínimo (1,5 X espesor de la placa) cm.

Armadura: Acero AEH400 El diámetro se determinará en cada caso según dimensiones y sobrecarga. En ningún caso el acero estará en contacto con el vidrio. Siempre deberá ir embebida en el hormigón y a distancia no inferior a 1 cm del exterior de la placa.

HormigónDosifi cación- 1 volumen de cemento tipo I o II, categoría 35.- 3 volúmenes de arena de río lavada.- Diámetro del árido <1 cm.
