St. Vincent DePaul serves hundreds of needy families a month.

Their resources are limited so each month we are asking Christ the King parishioners to donate a specific item that is needed. This month, we are collecting tooth paste and tooth brushes. So be sure to stop by the vestibule with your donation. Please consider making a monthly donation to St. Vincent DePaul so that more folks in need can be helped. From the Pastor’s Desk

This weekend is World Mission Sunday. Pope Pius XI instituted World Mission Sunday in 1926. His aim was to generate enthusiasm and support for the missionary efforts of the Church throughout the world. In those days, Asia and Africa were the Church’s primary “missionary territories.” Those were the places where people had yet to hear the Good News of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Nowadays, the United States is “missionary territory.” More and more Americans are drifting away from the Church and religion. To many people, a relationship with God is more of a burden than a blessing. That is why World Mission Sunday is so important. We are reminded once again that Jesus sends us each day to proclaim that freedom and happiness are found in a loving relationship with him. We can never tire of sharing this message with the people in our lives. To be an effective missionary, however, requires a lot: patience, perseverance, generosity, love, tact, and a true desire to see others reach their full potential. It is worth asking ourselves this weekend: How are we embracing our call to be missionaries in the secular world in which we live? What are we doing as individuals and as a Church to share our faith with others?

The Sisters’ Corner

All families are invited to pray a novena for their deceased loved ones and the souls in purgatory. We will begin this Tuesday, October 23 until Wednesday, October 31, at 7:00 p.m. in the church vestibule. On Wednesday, October 31, we’ll have Holy Hour at 6:00 p.m. and end with Mass at 7:00 p.m. (This event is in Spanish).

Save the date for the next Christ the King Youth Night: Sunday, October 28, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The Damascus

missionaries will join us once again for a night of food, fun, and faith. Youth Nights are open to all teens in grades 8 through 12. Friends are welcome! We are still in need of volunteers to help with youth nights. Please contact the parish office if you are interested in helping with logistics. (This event is bilingual.) Would you like to plan your family according to God’s plan and according to the Church’s teachings? This fall we will have an

opportunity to learn the Natural Family Planning (NFP). The course includes six consecutive classes to be held on Fridays, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The first class will be on Friday, November 2. It’s mandatory to attend as a couple. Please register before the starting date by calling at 614-237-0401, or in the parish office. We hope your participation in this safe, effective, and moral opportunity to learn the NFP. (This event is in Spanish). Aunt Hattie invites you to purchase luncheon tickets in the vestibule after Mass for the next three weeks. Her special social

Este fin de semana es el Domingo Mundial de las Misiones. El Papa Pío XI instituyó el Domingo Mundial de las Misiones en 1926. Su objetivo era generar entusiasmo y apoyo para las misiones de la Iglesia en todo el mundo. En aquellos días, Asia y África eran los "territorios misioneros" principales de la Iglesia. Esos eran los lugares donde las personas aún no habían escuchado la Buena Nueva de la muerte y resurrección de Jesús. Hoy en día, Estados Unidos es el "territorio de la misión". Cada vez más estadounidenses se están alejando de la Iglesia y la religión. Para muchos, una relación con Dios es más una carga que una bendición. Por eso este Domingo es tan importante. Se nos recuerda que Jesús nos envía cada día a proclamar que la libertad y la felicidad se encuentran en una relación amorosa con él. Nunca debemos cansarnos de compartir este mensaje con las personas en nuestras vidas. Sin embargo, ser un misionero efectivo se necesita paciencia, perseverancia, generosidad, amor, tacto y un verdadero deseo de ver a los demás alcanzar su máximo potencial. Vale la pena preguntarnos este fin de semana: ¿Cómo respondemos a nuestro llamado a ser misioneros en el mundo secular en el que vivimos? ¿Qué estamos haciendo como individuos y como Iglesia para compartir nuestra fe con los demás? Can we pray for you? Christ the King is starting a prayer chain ministry.

The mission of the prayer chain is to communicate requests for prayers to a network of intercessors who will pray for those requests. Prayer requests are received via email and then distributed electronically through the chain. Members of the Prayer Chain then pray for those intentions. We welcome anyone to become an intercessor for the Prayer Chain. It's easy, there are no meetings to attend, and you do not need to leave your home to pray. All Saints Academy Catholic School

The school had a wonderful Lunch on the Lawn event. It is great to have our students and families enjoy a meal together at school. The kids loved the music and dancing.

We are preparing for the All Saints Day Mass with the Bishop. Our Mass will be on Thursday, November 1, at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome to celebrate this important day with us. As we finish this month of October, we continue to pray for all men, women, and children who are suffering because of cancer. We wish everyone battling this disease peace, healing, and an increase in faith!

Outside the Parish The Diocese of Columbus is hosting a Seekers’ Retreat on October 27-28 at Saints Peter and Paul Retreat Center for those ages 18-39. This peer-led retreat is a great opportunity to connect

with other young adults. Discover the ways in which God is present in your life and how through prayer and discernment you can begin to answer those questions weighing on your heart. “Seek, and you shall find.” The cost is only $55, and financial assistance is available if needed. A Mass of inclusion for people with special needs will be on Sunday, November 4, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catharine of Siena Church, 500 S. Gould Rd., Columbus. In partnership with SPICE

(Special People in Catholic Education), this Mass will celebrate the unique gifts of those with physical and mental disabilities, as well as their caretakers. To encourage an inclusive, welcoming environment, there will be American Sign Language interpretation, elevator and wheelchair accessibility, low gluten hosts for those with dietary restrictions, and ushers available to assist. Escuela Católica All Saints Academy

La escuela tuvo un hermoso almuerzo al aire libre. Es grandioso tener a los estudiantes con las familias disfrutando comida juntos en la escuela. A los niños les encanto la música y el baile.
