A Day in the life of an athlete

Daisy White is 18. She studies sports science at university. She’s also a champion athlete.

Read about her day.

I usually get up at about 5.30 in the morning. In the summer it’s OK, but in the winter it’s cold and

dark. I hate it! I always have a big breakfast. I like cereal and toast.

At 6.30, I go to the sports centre. I’m there for two and a half hours! I do some warm up and stretching

exercises then I go to the running track. After that, I practise my jumping and throwing.

I have a shower and go straight to university. I love studying. My subject is really interesting.

After university, I do more training. I go home at about seven o’clock and have dinner with my family. I

watch TV and then go to bed at about nine o’clock. I’m very tired!
