Dear Parishioners,
Today we begin the Sea-son of Advent. The Advent Sea-son is the beginning of a new year of grace for us. We are given the opportunity, once again, to reflect on the love of
God for us expressed through the events that lead up to the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We will light one candle on the Advent Wreath in the church today. Every Sunday during this season we will light another candle until all four candles on the Advent Wreath are lit. Each week more light emanates from the wreath teach-ing us that we are getting closer and closer to the Feast of Christmas when the light of God’s love was born for us in Christ the Lord.
The light of Christ’s love is not just to be reflected by the Advent wreath, but it is also meant to shine through us who ready ourselves for the Feast of Christmas. As we look around the world today we see, maybe more than ever, the need for the light of Christ’s love to shine brighter and brighter so that the hope for peace may be realized throughout the world.
I pray that this holy season will be a time for all of us not only to reflect on the love of God which brought Jesus into the world, but also a time that we will let the light of Christ’s love shine through us so that the presence of the Lord will be visible in all of us who call ,Jesus, “Lord”, and await with anxious expectation, the feast of His birth.

Queridos feligreses,
Hoy comenza-mos el tiempo de Ad-viento. El tiempo de Ad-viento es el comienzo de
un nuevo año de gracias para nosotros. Se nos ha dado la oportunidad, una vez más, de reflexionar el amor de Dios que tiene hacia nosotros, expresándo-se a través de los acontecimientos que conducen hasta el nacimiento de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo. Vamos a encender una vela en la Corona de Adviento en la iglesia hoy. Todos los domingos du-rante esta temporada vamos a encender otra vela hasta que las cuatro velas de la corona de Adviento están encendidos Cada semana más luz brota de la corona que nos enseña que nos estamos acercando a la Fiesta de Navidad, cuando la luz del amor de Dios nació por nosotros en Cristo el Señor. La luz del amor de Cristo no sólo se refleja en la corona de Adviento, sino también está desti-nado a brillar a través de nosotros. Al mirar alrede-dor del mundo hoy en día vemos, la necesidad de que la luz y el amor de Cristo brille más y más de modo que la esperanza de la paz se pueda realizar a través del mundo.
Rezo para que esta temporada santo sea un tiempo para que todos nosotros podremos refle-xionar el amor de Dios que trajo a Jesús al mundo, y también es un momento que vamos a dejar que la luz del amor de Cristo brille a través de nosotros, para que la presencia del Señor sea visible en todos nosotros que llamamos a Jesús, "Señor", y que es-peran con expectación ansiosa, la fiesta de su naci-miento.

SENIOR CLUB On Thursday, December 7th,
we will end 2017 with a Christmas Party. We will return on January 11th. Happy Birthday to Jack Shea on December 27th.
FOOD PANTRY The Pantry was able to provide food to 100 families for Thanksgiving.
We would like to thank the following people who helped to make this possible: Naomi Fitzgerald, DRE from St. Joan of Arc, for their generous donation of food; Jennifer White, Mr. & Mrs. Peter Murphy, Craig Geraghty, and Apple Auto, for their donations of complete Thanksgiving meals; the members of the American Motorcycle Club for buying, storing and distributing the turkeys - you are the best; and, of course, our volunteers who were able to distribute 100 bags of food to our clients.

CALLING ALL TEENAGERS
Our Youth Ministry will resume meetings on Thursday evenings from 7: PM to 8:30 PM in the rectory basement. All of the young people of the parish are encouraged to at-tend. For more information call Fr. West at the rectory
The Angel Tree for Christmas toys and gifts will be up until December 17th. Please be an angel and take a tag for a child in need of a gift.
PLEASE DO NOT WRAP THE GIFT.
Place the gift under the tree no later than Sunday December 17th. Your generous gifts will be dis-tributed to families in our neighborhood. Thank you to all of our generous parishioners.
