    From Public Works

This public works management solution designed for the area road construction including a high at the

intersection with Charles de Gaulle, but has not been carried out due to lack of funds.

Consulted, Mayobanez Escoto, deputy secretary of Public Works Road, explained that the project is on

the agenda of the institution for the next year but construction depends on the budget assigned by theState for 2007. She said that for next year the institution requires about RD $ 12, 000 million to respond

to all the projects that are on hold. However, it is difficult to get this amount because the government

has enacted an austerity plan and will only increase the appropriations to departments of Education and

Health. This past year, Public Works just received RD $ 6,000 million.
