Diseño y estudio comparativo de instalación de subestaciones blindada y convencional. Resumen Pág.1
DISEÑO Y ESTUDIO COMPARATIVO DE INSTALACIÓN DE SUBESTACIONES BLINDADA Y CONVENCIONAL (132/20kV)
Autor: Jorge Fuentes, Pablo.

DESIGN And COMPARATIVE STUDY OF ARMORED And
CONVENTIONAL INSTALLATION OF SUBSTATIONS
(132/20kV)
The present project has two main targets. First, in broad strokes, it
concerns the mere design of a transforming substation of high tension, in

order to means of the two technologies commonly used by all the electrical
companies (GIS and AIS). On the other hand, the second global objective
that it tries to reach the document, is the one to study the suitability of
implantation of a model or another one, in a certain situation where the
yield of the types of substation is even, that is to say, a zone in which their
own characteristics, do not determine of a trivial way the technology to
implant, existing a reasonable doubt at the time of the taking of the
decision.
An indetermine situation really considers a priori and it is tried to
contribute to ideas or strategies to arrive at a determination. The
implantation of a substation of a global form studies.
The following scene sets out: "Due to the future construction of a great
urban nucleus destined to the tourism, in the province of Pontevedra, it is
required of a transforming substation for the supplying of a demand of 60
MVA. will be to determine that substation to implant, having a price of
approximated ground of 500 €/m2, considering a horizon of operation of
the installation of 25 years”
Starting off of these premises, and having limits of tension of 132/20kV, it
is come to the design of both facilities (armored and conventional).
For it one considers that waters under the power transformer, the two
facilities are equal, that is to say, the transformer and the zone of average
tension, will be the same ones in both substations.
First the electrical scheme is determined to use. The option of double bar
with connection switch is adopted, whose justification is exposed thanks to
diverse factors. Not in vain, this configuration turns out to be used for
situations of this type.
Later it is come to the accomplishment of the required electrical
calculations for the selection from aparament of both facilities, as well as
from the number of transforming of power to install.
Equally the earth networks are determine the proportions in both facilities.
It is come to the selection from aparament of both substations through
catalogues of manufacturers.
Diseño y estudio comparativo de instalación de subestaciones blindada y convencional. Resumen Pág.5
Once defined the two substations with its aparament obtains a first price,
formed by the value of the electromechanical work, an estimation of the
civil work and an estimation of the maintenance costs.
Thus it is had two associated values to each installation with which an
economic study based on the price of the land will be able to be raised.
The following step is the one to compile prices characteristic of grounds of
the province at issue, to observe the variability of the final cost of the
installation according to the zone.
This way they are left with clarity the locations certain where the yields of
you loved facilities diverge clearly. Also with the same clarity, it is left a
zone with concrete characteristics certain where the final prices of the
substations are crossed. This is the concrete situation of study that
interests to approach. It will be defined as Rural zone "To" and the prices
of the ground oscillate between the 1000 and the 200 €/m2. Concretely for
values near 500€/m2 the final prices are similar.
In order to study this situation, in the project one considers to adopt a
solution based on the modeled one of determined variable, that although
they do not have direct influence on the cost of the facilities, yes can
influence at the time of deciding. One is to create a simple equation, from
which a value for each substation is obtained, which will be equipped with
certain sensitivity these variables. That is to say, some way is to compare
the cost € with the consequences of the implantation of the substation.
For it on the one hand the value is associated to a certain amount of money
unit. On the other hand the variables are determined that are considered
have relevance and a value weighed based on the importance is associated
to them.
For each variable a study is made, in such a way that the value is
determined that it adopts for the situation to study in each substation.
Finally they add all the variables corresponding to each type of installation,
finding therefore a numerical value. Which has been modeled in such a
way that the greater values are most unfavorable, with making the study
for the circumstances of both substations we obtain a value for the
conventional substation and a value for the armored substation. That it is

greater for the comparison scene will be most unfavorable, therefore its
implantation is not recommended.
In the case of the present project, it has been made for the proposed scene
previously, where the price of land ascended to 500€/m2, and they have
been taken like weighed variables, to part of the final price of each
installation, the environmental impact, geographic conditions, climatologic
conditions and degree of acceptance of the population next to the
substation.
Once made the calculations, determines that the most advisable installation
to implant is the GIS.
Of this substation, their planes, sheets of conditions will be developed and
builds civilian.
