CRITERIOS DE ACCESIBILIDADAdaptado / Accesible: Un espacio, instalación o servicio se considera Adaptado/Accesible si se ajusta a los requerimientos funcionales y dimensionales que garanticensu utilización autónoma y con comodidad por las personas con movilidad reducida.

Practicable: Un espacio, instalación o servicio se considera Practicable cuando, sinajustarse a todos los requerimientos que lo califiquen como adaptado, no impide suutilización a las personas con movilidad reducida.

Inaccesible / con barreras: Un espacio, instalación o servicio se considera Inaccesible ocon barreras cuando, sus estancias y elementos de que consta la instalación, no permiteel acceso, la circulación y la estancia en sus dependencias.

ACCESSIBILITY STANDARDSAdapted / Accessible: A space, or facility is considered Adapted when people withdisabilities or any kind of mobility impairment may do a functional, autonomous use of it.

Practicable: A space, or facility is considered Practicable when though it does not fulfil allthe required standards to qualified as adapted but it is suitable for a proper use by thehandicapped.

LA LLEGADA DE “LOS SUECOS”HistoriaEn el año 1957, un grupo de jóvenes suecos con movilidad reducida(originada por problemas reumáticos), después de haber recorrido mediomundo en busca de un lugar cálido, llegó a un poblado marinero.

Este lugar, gracias a su agradable clima y a su playa, les permitió mejorarnotablemente su estado de salud. El privilegiado enclave se llama Playade Los Cristianos y la llegada de estos visitantes escandinavos dio lugaral nacimiento del turismo en el Municipio. Desde entonces nosesforzamos en suprimir las barreras de la vida diaria.

Ejemplo de ello es el mayor Paseo Marítimo Peatonal Sin Barreras deEuropa, con sus 7 kms. de longitud. Este atractivo, unido a una ampliaoferta de hoteles accesibles, variadas actividades de ocio, deportesadaptados, y por supuesto, playas accesibles convierten Arona en unode los destinos elegidos, durante todo el año, por miles de turistas conmovilidad reducida.

THE ARRIVAL OF “THE SWEDES”History

In 1957, a group of young Swedes withreduced mobility (caused by rheumatism)arrived in a seafaring town after havingtravelled the world in search of a warmclimate in which to settle.

Their health improved considerably thanksto the pleasant climate and beach. Thisprivileged spot is known as Playa de LosCristianos and the arrival of theseScandinavian visitors marked the start ofthe municpality’s tourist industry. Sincethen, we have worked hard to eliminatethe barriers of everyday life.

A prime example of this is Europe’s largestBarrier-Free Pedestrian Sea Promenade, which runs for 7 km. along thecoast. This major attraction, together with a wide range of accessiblehotels and several leisure options, adapted sports facilities, withoutforgetting its accessible beaches, make Arona a popular choice forthousands of tourists with reduced mobility throughout the year.

DIE ANKUNFT DER “SCHWEDEN”GeschichteIm Jahre 1957 kam eine Gruppe schwedischer Jugendlicher mitrheumatisch bedingten Mobilitätseinschränkungen, nachdem sie aufder Suche nach einem warmen Ort bereits die halbe Welt umreisthatten, in einem Fischerdorf an.

Der Aufenthalt in diesem Ort bescherte ihnen dank seines mildenKlimas und seiner belebenden Strandluft eine bemerkenswerteBesserung ihrer Gesundheit. Wir kennen diese privilegierte Enklaveunter dem Namen Playa de Los Cristianos und die Ankunft dieserskandinavischen Besucher legte den Grundstein für die Entwicklungdes Fremdenverkehrs in der Gemeinde. Seitdem bemühen wir uns, dieHindernisse des täglichen Lebens zu beseitigen.

Ein gutes Beispiel hierfür ist größte barrierefreie StrandpromenadeEuropas mit 7 km. Länge. Dieser Anziehungspunkt in Verbindung miteiner großen Auswahl behindertengerechter Hotelanlagen, einemvielfältigen Freizeitangebot, angepassten Sportarten und selbstverständlichden behindertengerechten Stränden, machen Arona das ganze Jahrüber zu einem der beliebtesten Urlaubsziele für Tausende von Touristenmit eingeschränkter Mobilität.

TURISMO SIN BARRERASNuestro CompromisoEl Ayuntamiento de Arona se está convirtiendo en un municipioaccesible, donde todos los ciudadanos, sin excepción, disfruten deunos óptimos niveles de bienestar.

Para ello asume el reto de que su oferta turística llegue a todo el mundo,poniendo en marcha el Plan Integral de Accesibilidad de Arona.

BARRIER - FREE TOURISMOur commitmentThe Borough of Arona is becoming an accessible municipality whereall residents and visitors can enjoy matchless standards of wellbeing.

To this end, it is working to ensure that its tourist attractions and amenitiesare open to everyone, through the Arona Integral Accessibility Scheme.

This municipal scheme covers all types of everyday activities. Theobjective is to improve the quality of life of the disabled and residentsin general.

The principal areas of action are given below:

• URBAN PLANNING: Elimination of architectural barriers on publicthoroughfares.

• BUILDINGS: Public buildings, health, government, education and culture centres and private buildings (Tourist Accommodation, Leisure Centres, Bars and Restaurants, Travel Agencies, etc.).

• TRANSPORT: Accessible buses, adapted taxis, car rental companies.

BARRIERENFREIER TOURISMUS Unser VersprechenDie Gemeindeverwaltung von Arona ist derzeit dabei, den Ort in einebehindertengerechte Gemeinde zu verwandeln, in der sich alleBewohner, ohne irgendeine Ausnahme, in hohem Maße wohlfühlen.Mit diesem Ziel starten wir den “Plan Integral de Accesibilidad deArona”, d.h. den ganzheitlichen Plan für ein behindertengerechtesArona und stellen uns damit der Herausforderung, ein touristischesAngebot zu entwickeln, das für Jedermann zugänglich ist.

Dieser Plan findet auf die gesamte Gemeinde Anwendung und umfasstalle Bereiche des täglichen Lebens. Sein Ziel ist es, die Lebensqualitätder behinderten Menschen und der Bevölkerung im Allgemeinen zuverbessern. Dabei sind folgende Arbeitsbereiche von besondererBedeutung:

• STÄDTEBAU: Beseitigung von architektonischen Barrieren auf öffentlichen Wegen.

• BEBAUUNG: Öffentliche Gebäude (Zentren für Gesundheitsdienste, Verwaltung, Erziehung und Kultur) und privat genutzte Gebäude (touristische Unterkünfte, Freizeitzentren, Restaurants, Reisebüros, usw.)

• TRANSPORT: Behindertengerechte Busse und rollstuhlgerechte Taxis, Autoverleihfirmen, etc.

• SENSORIELLE KOMMUNIKATION: Telekommunikation (zugängliche Webseite, Mobiltelefone, Texttelefone)

SERVICIO DE ASISTENCIA A PERSONAS CON MOVILIDAD REDUCIDAAEROPUERTOS ESPAÑOLESEn cumplimiento del Reglamento (CE) 1107/2006 del Parlamento Europeo, se pone enmarcha a partir del 26 de Julio de 2008 en todos los aeropuertos europeos un servicio deatención a los pasajeros con movilidad reducida. Esta medida comunitaria supone un gran avance social para las personas con discapacidady por esta razón, se han dispuesto todos los recursos económicos, materiales y humanosnecesarios para hacer posible que, en todos los aeropuertos españoles, se preste unservicio de calidad que garantice que todas las personas puedan disfrutar del transporteaéreo entre cualquier punto de la geografía europea, sea cual sea su discapacidad.

¿Cómo solicitar este servicio?

1º Solicítelo al menos con 48 horas de antelación* al hacer su reserva o adquirir subillete a través de su agente de viajes o compañía aérea, 902 404 704 o en la web:www.aena.es(* de no respetarse este tiempo de antelación, no podrá garantizarse la calidad del servicioofrecido).

2º Acuda al punto de encuentro a la hora acordada. Si no se ha fijado hora alguna, comomínimo dos horas antes de la hora de salida programada. Avise de su llegada por elintercomunicador y espere, allí le recogerán. Puede ver la localización de los puntos deencuentro en la web www.aena.es.

3º Facturación y embarque: Será atendido y acompañado durante el proceso defacturación y en los controles de seguridad, hasta su asiento en el avión. Le ayudarán consu equipaje y ayudas personales.

4º Llegada a su destino: Le ayudarán a embarcar y a recoger su equipaje. Después leacompañarán al punto de encuentro del aeropuerto que usted decida.

5º Al finalizar el servicio: Le agradeceremos que colabore en su valoración si el personalse lo pide. Si algo no fuera de su agrado, comuníquelo a [email protected]

DIFERENTES DISCAPACIDADES

WCHC Pasajeros privados de cualquier movilidad y no autosuficientes.Deben ser acompañados a su asiento y necesitan ayuda personal com-pleta. SI su viaje dura más de tres horas, necesitan acompañante. WCHR Pasajeros que necesitan ayuda durante el traslado entre la aeron-ave y la terminal, autosuficientes para embarcar y desplazarse dentro dela aeronave. WCHS Pasajeros que necesitan ayuda entre la aeronave y la terminal ytambién para embarcar, autosuficientes dentro de la aeronave. DEAF Pasajeros sordos. BLND Pasajeros con discapacidades visuales.

ASSISTANCE FOR PERSONS WITH REDUCED MOBILITYSPANISH AIRPORTSIn compliance with Regulation (EC) nº1107/2006 of the European Parliament, starting July26TH 2008 all European airports will offer assistance services for passengers withreduced mobility. This European Community measure represents a significant socialadvance for disabled persons and for this reason all the necessary financial, material andhuman resources have been provided to make it possible for every Spanish airport torender a quality service guaranteeing that all people can enjoy air transport anywhere inEurope, regardless of their disability.

How to procure this service?

1º Request it at least 48 hours ahead of time* when booking your flight or purchasingyour ticket through your travel agent or airline, 902 404 704 (from Spain) or going to thewebsite: www.aena.es*If you do not request it far enough in advance, the quality of the service rendered cannot be guaranteed.

2º Go to the meeting point at the prearranged time. If no meeting time has beenarranged, come at least two hours prior to the scheduled departure time. Let them knowwhen you have arrived, using the intercom, and wait: they will pick up you up there. You can find the meeting points on the website: www.aena.es

3º Check-in and boarding: You will be assisted and accompanied during the check-inprocess and the security checkpoints, until you are in your seat on the plane. They willhelp you with your luggage and personal needs.

4º Arrival at your destination: They will help you deplane and retrieve your luggage.Afterwards, they will accompany you to the meeting point of the airport of your choice.

5º When the service has been completed: They would appreciate it if you wouldcollaborate by evaluating it if so requested by a staff member. If you have any complaints,please communicate them to [email protected]

DIFFERENT DISABILITIES

WCHC These passengers are entirely immobile and not self-sufficient. They must be accompanied to their seats and they need complete personal assistance. If the journey is more than three hours long, they need a companion.

WCHR These are passengers who need help getting from the aircraft to the terminal. Theycan board and move around the aircraft on their own.

WCHS These passengers need help getting from the aircraft to the terminal and also for boarding. They are self-sufficient inside the aircraft.

DEAF Deaf passengers.

BETREUUNG VON PERSONEN MIT EINGESCHRÄNKTER BEWEGLICHKEIT - FLUGHÄFEN IN SPANIENGemäß Verordnung (EG) Nr. 1107/2006 des Europäischen Parlaments tritt ab dem 26. Welche Schritte m�ssen Sie unternehmen?

4. Ankunft am Zielflughafen: Wir helfen Ihnen beim Aussteigen und bei derGepäckausgabe. Danach werden Sie bis zu einem von Ihnen bestimmten Treffpunkt desFlughafens begleitet.
