Toulouse is a city in southwest France on the banks of the River Garonne, 590 km away from Paris and half-way between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Its world renowned university is one of the oldest in Europe (founded in 1229) and, with more than 97,000 students, is the third-largest university campus of France after Paris and Lyon.

Toulouse is one of the bases of the European aerospace industry, with the headquarters of Airbus and the final assembly lines of A320, A330, A380 and A350. It was the birthplace of famous aerospace manufacturers like Latecoere in the thirties or aircraft like the Concorde. CNES Toulouse Space Centre (CST), the largest space centre in Europe, Thales Alenia Space, Europe's largest satellite manufacturer and the Space Systems division of Airbus Defence and Space hold a significant place in Toulouse.

Toulouse was chosen to host the 8th edition of ESOF (EuroScience Open Forum), the biggest interdisciplinary meeting on science and innovation in Europe, in 2018. PhotoMechanics 2018 has been awarded the ESOF label

The 6th PhotoMechanics conference (Toulouse, France) follows on the series of highly successful PhotoMechanics conferences held in 2015 (Delft,Netherlands), 2013 (Montpellier, France), 2011 (Brussels, Belgium), 2008 (Loughborough, UK) and 2006 (Clermont-Ferrand, France).

The purpose of the PhotoMechanics 2018 conference is to provide an international forum for academics and practitioners to promote the new possibilities offered by full-field measurement techniques and to discuss their impact on the mechanical characterization of materials and structures.

The conference will be organized by the Institut Clément Ader (ICA) - UMR CNRS 5312 research laboratory. The conference will take place in the City Center of Toulouse, within 5 minutes walking distance of hotels, restaurants and cultural activities.

Scope

▶ Development of surface and volume kinematic fields measurements▶ Measurement of thermographic fields▶ Measurement methods with application to temporal phenomena (transient dynamics, Vibratory ...)▶ Measurement at small scales (nano, micro ...) and application in micromechanics▶ Characterization / identification of the mechanical behavior of materials and structures from full-field measurements▶ Detection, monitoring and characterization of cracks, damage and fatigue▶ In-situ measurements▶ Optical methods for biomechanics and biomedical

Keynote Lectures

Registration and feesThe conference fee for early bird registration will be 450€ (VAT excluded) and 350€ for students including conferences, lunches, coffee breaks, welcome reception, downtown visit and conference banquet.

Online registration athttp://photomech2018.sciencesconf.org/

Conference FormatA 2-page abstract is to be submitted on the website of the conference (template available online). The contributions will be presented either as oral in a plenary session or as poster presentations. Depending on the number of participants, poster authors will be asked to present a short 5 minutes talk (max. 3 slides) during the plenary session. A digital book of abstracts will be available for the conference. The scientific committee will propose a selection of papers for publication in a special issue of the Journal of Strain Analysis for Engineering Design.
