We are very pleased with the success obtained by the Storyteller at the beginning of this school year and the Theatre performance from last March. Consequently, now we happily remind you and announce that there is still pending another Storyteller show which will take place next June. It will be another pleasant experience with a dynamic Storyteller, whose art sparkles joy and amazement for our children to interact, practice and learn new vocabulary in a very enjoyable way.

On the other hand, following our programme to strengthen the children’s writing skills, below you will find some papers that some students have written about issues related to their Unit of Inquiry.

**We remind you that the English department does not correct any of the kids’ texts because our writing programme promotes independent writing and self-correction.

When I was a baby I liked to play with toys and drink milk. Today, I love school and Iike to play with my friends. In the future I will try to be an artist. I will paint landscapes. I love nature.

Santiago Hayaux Du Tilly2nd Grade “B”Nature

It is important to learn a lot of things about nature. I like nature too much because it means all the things in the world, and it is essential to preserve it. We are nature, everything is nature: water, air, fire, land, and many other things. If we don’t have these elements we die.

Carolina Toro3rd Grade “A”Conflicts in countries

In many countries there are conflicts because of the government or of the economy, but the countries can prevent them by holding meetings and saying the things they think are unfair to them.

Maximiliano Ramírez Vázquez3rd Grade “A” Book Fair

I liked the Book Fair a lot because there were many titles and different books which all looked interesting.

I found a lot of books about dogs and puppies. The puppies looked cute. I got a book about Batman which was very interesting, and gave Eliza a “Soy Luna” book, which I think she liked.

Although overfishing is a non-sustainable use of the oceans, it occurs when many fish are caught. We have overused our natural resources to obtain products for our needs. It’s time to be responsible of our actions and make a sustainable development.

Valeria Zavaleta5th Grade “B”The importance of natural resources

Human beings have been taking advantage of the resources around them for their better life.

Resources are essential in our life to satisfy our needs, and they give us water, which is a treasure for us, we get medicines and many other products from our natural resources.

It is important that we preserve them to continue existing, but we also have to take advantage of them, at the same time we have to take care of them.

Changes in the Renaissance

I think that the changes were really hard, because a lot of people had to change religions or customs, and it would have been confusing and mean to them.

Other people had to give their children to the Ottoman army, because of war, and it was hard for the kids to adapt to being without their families and spending time training for battle with a lot of strangers around them.

But there were also good changes, like the development and enhancing of art, science, research, etc., which were caused, because they had previous knowledge from the Middle Ages that helped them to create new techniques a little easier and it helped them a lot.

Humanism was reflected in philosophy and arts mainly, it focused on the human being as an individual, which was a completely different point of view from that in the Middle Ages.

Although people in those days weren’t really aware of their living in a new era, Renaissance was a period that for us represents a huge change in all aspects of life.
