    1. The results suggests that there is no direct relationbetween the daily energy intake and its cost for all tha daycare centers.

    2. The daily energy intake at PADRE ANTONIO ROCO was

    the lowest. Nevertheless, the energy price was in secondplace when compared to the price in the other 2 day carecenters.

    3. In general, lunch provided most of the daily energy intakeof the child and had the biggest part of the cost.

    4. At SANTA CLARA the amount of energy provided by

    snacks was almost the same as the energy provided bylunch. This was due to the frequency of snacks providedwhich is twice a day to cover the lack of breakfast.

    5. There was no observable tendency over the cost by day of

    feeding. Nevertheless, there were a few high costs inspecific days directly related to the cost of ingredients usedin the menu of that day.

    6. Water was the most consumed item in all day care centersbut not one of the most costly ones.

    7. Meat and meat products were one of the most consumeditems in the weekly diet in FUNDAESPRO 4 and PADRE A.ROCO increasing the cost of feeding because they werealso one of the most costly items.

    8. Vegetables such as onions, tomatoes and carrots werefrequently consumed in all day care centers but carrotswere also in the list of the most costly items inFUNDAESPRO 3 and PADRE A. ROCO.

    9. Rice was frequently consumed in PADRE A. ROCO and wasalso one of the most costly items along the week.
