Geografia de somnis Geography of dreams Geografia de sueños
“For us, life is a dream, architecture is a powerful tool for dreaming and it is through dreams and architecture we can create realities that really concern us. It is through these dreams as we are mapping our lives.” RCR arquitectes
The exhibition presents RCR arquitectes under the title Geografia de somnis (Geography of dreams). The dream as an exhibition concept visualized and understood as different geographies. The first geography begins by explaining the more practical dimension with data, graphics and diagrams of their conception and the structure of the studio, passing through the built work as seen by Hisao Suzuki in videos showing a selection of representative works to explain their way of understanding and making architecture. Finally, you enter a more oneiric geography with the presentation of a project that represents the dreams they want to achieve in the coming years, in a territory where all their cosmology will be expressed.
The exhibition also relates RCR and Japan through their various trips to this country, the last one to the forests of Yoshino. This relationship is expressed through a documentary, reflections and sketches on the experience of their last trip that coincided with the Pritzker Prize ceremony at the Akasaka Palace with the presence of the Emperors.

Paper Pavilion - RCR Cosmology
The project of the Paper Pavilion is presented in the framework of the geografia de somnis (geography of dreams) project. As a tribute to the Yoshino forest, the Buddhist monk and poet Thích Nhât Hanh, to the carpenter Tsunebazu Nishioka.
To the tree that has the ability to generate such a special material as wood is, capable of building great temples, dwellings and at the same time something as fragile as paper; a support on which, among others, poets can write poetry.
It is a wooden pavilion, with an exterior base. In the central part of the pavilion there would be planted a small cedar that should be taken care to make it grow, for being replanted when growing a little more, turning this way into a repeated action that would create a cedar forest for everybody to last for centuries and thousands of years, as a message of hope and a sign of the effort it takes to protect this fundamental legacy that is Nature.
