Known as The Peaceful Island, Fuerteventura has an area of 1.679 squarekilometres. It is the second largest island in the archipelago of theCanaries, situated only at 96 kilometres away from the African coast. Itsextensive beaches of golden sand alongside the turquoise waters willmake you feel like you are in a real oasis in The Atlantic Ocean.

The coastline of Fuerteventura is kown for kilometre upon kilometre ofwhite sandy beaches that attract holidaymakers to this beautiful island.In the South you can find the longest beach (26 kilometres) and in theNorth you will find the wide dune beaches of Corralejo.

The constant wind and its special water conditions make Fuerteventura aplace where the infrastructure has been developed in association withwater sports, especially surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing and gamefishing.

Fuerteventura has a mild climate. Its temperatures remain stable around21ºC (70 Fº) the whole year, having more than 3,000 hours of sun, and itslow rainfall make you feel like you are living an endless spring.

c. Corralejo:

Directly at the entrance of Corralejo, is a protected Nature Reserve which is a vast area of amazinggolden sand dunes and turquoise waters. Corralejo has something for everyone, ideal for families andwater sports enthusiasts.

On a trip to the island of Lobos you will be able to enjoy the beautiful sandy beach which has a gentleslope into the water. We can recommend this for bathing and there are plenty of fish to be see if youfancy trying snorkelling.

Perhaps the most well known of all the towns in Fuerteventura. The increasing demands of tourismmean that the resort is ever changing and growing. Most of the resorts bars and shops line the mainstreet running down into Corralejo and ending in a maze of small streets by seafront, where you findplenty of restaurants. The harbour – as well as home to the local fisherman and yacht owners and daycruise ships, it’s also the port of call for ferry services, an hourly service to the neighbouring island ofLanzarote, just 35 minutes away.
