Obesidad
- En España, la obesidad afecta a más del 16% de la población
y los problemas de sobrepeso a más de 50% (INE, 2013). La
obesidad afecta a 1/3 de la Población Europea
- El problema de la obesidad en España supone alrededor de un
1% del PIB
- En el mundo se estima que más de 1.000 millones de
personas padecen sobrepeso u obesidad y (hoy por hoy, el
país más afectado, Estados Unidos, tiene cerca del 65% de la
población con sobrepeso u obesidad)
La obesidad es un problema de salud, social y económico

Se parte de la investigación desarrollada desde 1997 en el Departamento de
Ciencias de la Alimentación y Fisiología y financiada a través de la Línea especial
“Nutrición, Obesidad y Salud” del Plan de Investigación de la Universidad de
Navarra (PIUNA).

El objetivo principal no es sólo un “papel” (publicar o patentar), sino que tiene vocación
de llegar a mercado para financiarse mediante royalties.
El modelo tampoco busca retornos financieros para los socios sino de explotación. La
vocación es que las empresas y la UNAV son socios a medio-largo plazo.

• Los derechos de explotación de un producto/servicio concreto
se negocian entre los socios.
