En el Cead de Neiva estuvieron muy entusiastas durante
la celebración del cumpleaños 28 de la UNAD
Our work team pays a
deep tribute to our University
in its 28 years, that was held
all around the country and in
the Florida CEAD, with the
participation of the Dr Magaly
Pinzón, our rector and of
course, from heaven our re-
minded master Dr. Miguel
Ramón as cofounder of our
University. Likewise all the
staff feel proud of being part
of the UNADISTA family, the
noblest feelings from the bot-
tom of our hearts.
Besides, we must highlight
that the first CPB cohort has
started with 11 journalists
from Ibagué, musical city of
Colombia. Surely, many jour-
nalists will join to this purpose,
having in mind the advan-
tages that our University of-
fers in order to recognize the
work developed in the mass
media as journalists.
On the other side, the rec-
ognition by Colciencias to the
group Techonogical Innova-
tion of CEAD Florencia and
the approval of important pro-
jects in CEAD of Neiva, Pi-
talito, Florencia and Ibagué by
SIUNAD, reflects the work
done from our zone with the
support of Dr Facundo
Maldonado from the national
head office and the Red Vida.
The creation of the Research
Group “Pasos de Libertad”
which strengthen our work at
INPEC taking care not only of
the prisoners but also the
important projects of resociali-
zation of prisoners and their
families.
We cannot forget the
graduation celebrated on June
27th where we shared happy
moments with our students.
Most of them are carrying out
the labor entrusted by our Uni-
versity.
For our south zone, we feel
very proud of keeping with the
consolidation of the academic
and administrative processes;
in the social and community
awareness of our work team,
of our students and the place-
ment achieved in our zone
thanks to the commitment of
our leaders in each CEAD and
CERES.
From the next edition, we
will begin with a series of spe-
cials which let recognize the
essence of our zone from the
creation to the most important
projects that have impacted in
a positive way the communi-
ties which have felt the pres-
ence of UNAD.
In Ibague, the University
made presence as special
guest in the national parade of
the Colombian Folkloric Festi-
val on June 28th, the most
important universities of the
zone participated, among
them UNAD. With this partici-
pation the UNAD achieved to
show in front of the general
citizenship and the visitors
from all around the country
who enjoyed these parties.

have emerged related to the

projection. It is very important to show the outstanding articulation and
“reticularity” of the three vice-presidencies of our University to lead all the activities that have to do with the social projection: the Regional Development Vice-presidency is in charge of all the community processes leading projects such as the univer-sity social service system “SISSU” and the design and manage-ment of the knowledge maps; the Academical and research Vice-presidency leads through the faculties and its articulation with the academical courses and the “SISSU”, in which the stu-dents are the most important characters; the Media and Peda-gogical Resources Vice-presidency supports the studies about the knowledge maps in which there are 69 participants in the whole zone and 23 of them belong to Cead Ibagué.
On the other hand this meeting strengthened through the Psychosocial Service Center the knowledge maps designed for the 3
rd and 4
th commune in Ibagué and which will be contin-
ued counting on the three vice –presidencies’ support and the courses focusing in topics such as: disability, digital alphabeti-zation and solid waste impact.
The work that has been done in Ibagué is an example of an articulated vice-presidencies work, which come together to make the operative University Plan possible in order to promote the community development.

A group of 10 local journalists,
who work in the media, are currently
studying in the Unad in order to be
professionals .
Thanks to the national convention
that the University has subscribed to
the Journalists' Circle of Bogota, CPB,
empirical journalists, technicians and
technologists across the country have
the opportunity to become profes-
sional communicators in the UNAD,
they will get a title as Social Commu-
nicators. The agreement recognizes
the experience that each participant
has obtained through the years of
work , published papers, audiovisual
productions and so on.
In additional this program allows
students to apply for approval of ho-
mologation and to take proficiency
tests in the areas that are considered
strongholds of product experience.
The CPB is
responsible for
verifying each
student experi-
ence and accord-
ing to this, the
CPB certifies an-
nually each one
of them, so they
can work in the
media as journal-
ists. The program
gives certain num-
ber of credits, so
students who
want to become
professional do
not have to study them again.
Out of 40 students, who enrolled
intersemestral period, 10 were en-
rolled from CEAD Ibagué through the
process of information and support
that were given from the Department,

rd the Edu-
cational Sciences Schools Dean together with the Dep-uty Regional Development visited Normal Superior School that is located in Icononzo, Tolima.
The main objective was to offer UNAD programs. It was the first approach with institution’s principal Mr. S a ú l C a i c e d o B o -hórquez,who was very inter-ested in establishing an agreement between UNAD, and the school alumni and the current students.
Since the Normal School’s emphasis is hu-manistic, Mr. Bohorquez asked for a preliminary study for the undergraduate program in Bachelor of Eth-nic. This study was pre-sented to the national coor-dinator of Ethnic program, Alejandro Vargas, who ac-cepted the proposal, for this reason we begin the proc-ess of formalizing it through the establishment of the contract.
This proposal includes municipalities such as: Coyaima and Natagaima, places in which the Normal
has alumni and is currently students.
We hope that this effort will be successful and we can begin as soon as possi-ble to make it real.
All CEAD and CERES
are invited to motivate and generate this kind of ap-proaches with the Normal School, this way we can expand the presence of the School of Science Educa-tion in the South Zone.

The research group of “INYUMACIZO” cead
Pitalito has obtained funding from Siunad to work
in two research projects.
The semillero “ROSIYE” won first place nation-
ally among the projects proposed, it got 93 points
out of 100, with the projects: Institutional Plan of
Environmental Management PIGA and Mora de
Castilla project.
The Agriculture School (ECAPMA) of UNAD
CEAD Pitalito, leader of this project has decided
to advance in the creation and strength the semil-
lero research, to turn it into the research group
INYUMACIZO.
The research group Inyumacizo was created in
2006 and its members are four research tutors of
the University National Open and Distance Unad,
Cead Pitalito. They, along with, some students
have developed research projects in the produc-
tive chains and biodiversity, as well as on issues
of biopreparados, forest species, fruit of moderate
cold weather, special coffees, pasture and forage,
watershed and sustainable tourism.
The research has s opened the technical phi-
losophical debate about the origins and conse-
quences of the "Sustainable development" and
has directed efforts towards a "cultural change"
Under these assumptions, INYUMACIZO which
takes the name of the language quetchua
"YUMA", meaning River friend, the research team
has submitted three projects to the research
Unadista system "SIUN" 2009, which have gotten
an outstanding evaluation.
Marlene Rozo, Psychologist graduate
of the UNAD .
When we began our life we project to do many things while we move forward in age we notice that it is not easy to achieve our goals, some peo-ple give up some very soon , others we cross the barriers in order to reach our dreams.
I began as a leader in the Neighborhood Health Center, Jorge Eliécer Gaitán committee where I´ve lived the most of my life, with a strong vocation for the community service, then, by profiting the space offered by the Community agreements I accepted the leader of the community action in the same neighborhood for eight years, into which we got a great social achievement, by receiving many incentives for recognition from the community and the municipal and depart-mental administration.
Then by a behave from some colleagues I was named to the local governing action, obtaining two seats on the list, I was president of the suburb number four, a big community with thirty four suburbs, during a entire period to be recognized and decorated as one of the best leaders of the town.
I also collaborated by doing social work in prison Picaleña
for several years, by achieving rearrange some groups identi-fied as the playground of women. During this time of in-teraction with the community, I understood the need to prepare myself more in order to get targets with social groups which I led, so I decided to study a social career, and in the only Educative Institution that filled my expectation was the UNAD where I could study social Communitary psycholo-gy.
During six years I spent studying I got the best tools in Social Science Research Com-munity, and Psychology, which leads me today to be the coor-dinator of a successful program of support to the secretary of the management of the mayor of Ibague, laboratories Micro-enterprises, where I could ap-ply the won knowledge in the university classrooms, as well as the I am the author of a the-sis of the so-called declared successful pedagogical Fun Strategies For Training UNAD - Cead Ibague, which it got the feasibility and viability of be-coming a program of the mu-nicipal administration. I invite all those people who have not been able to reach their dreams of becoming profes-sionals, please, visit the Unad where furthermore of provid-ing a distance education way, which schedules are very flexi-ble, here you have the oppor-tunity of payments according the registered subjects, with its new virtual line, which makes education be possible anywhere in Colombia, with an excellent academic education.

People from the south zone of
the University work for the integral
development and wellbeing of all
the Unadista family and we are
also aware of the people´s need to
have access to good health pro-
grams and have a good service
quality.
Because of that The Regional
Development and Community Pro-
jection Zone Department has or-
ganized an agreement with the
doctor Gina Marcela Ospina Or-
juela, who is the legal representa-
tive of an optician’s shop called
IMAGEN which is located across
the street from the Tolima theater
in Ibagué.
The agreement consists on let-
ting students, tutors, administrative
and academical staff and also their
families to get a 10% or 40% off in
some services that are offered
there.

bohidrate.

The Optician´s shop will also
develop preventive and promo-
tional visual programs such us :
preventive programs, educational
workshops, conferences, occupa-
tional and training visual health
programs.
These services will be offered
to all the Unadista community, in-
cluding The CERES from Líbano
and Mariquita, basic level educa-
tion students who are involved in
the University.
To have access to all this bene-
fits its necessary to show the iden-
tification card that proves the per-
son belongs to the Unadista Com-
munity.
It is very important to extend
the invitations to all our University
community in order they can enjoy
this agreement which has a valid
period of 3 years.
Young Students of Social Communication
in Libano Tolima are currently working in a
consolidation project of the Center for Commu-
nications at the UNAD of this town.
Recognizing the need to open a space for
their professional practices and to contribute
to the community through training workshops
in radio, television and newspapers, students
of this program, coordinated by the tutor
leader Rosa Fernanda Collazos Quiñónez ad-
vance the first phase of the Project.
According to the student Aura del Pilar
Orellana, the first phase consists in the adap-
tation of space: cleaning , painting , putting the
ceiling and doing other necessary activities,
and in getting thee consolidation of draft letter
to be able to manage the resources necessary
to the second phase which is the technical
adequacy, we need some basic equipment like
a computer, microphone, console and a pair of
recording media.
According to the student the third phase is
working with the communities: There are many
young people in Líbano interested in linked
projects of training and even more if media is
more, young people need to express them-
selves, create their own spaces of communi-
cation in which they feel recognized, that's
why we're talking about a Media Center and
not production only.
Similarly, Rosa Fernanda Collazos, men-
tor leader of the program of Social Communi-
cation, asserts that students are working very
excited because they know it is a project for
them, and the focus of it is social, so they
hope to contribute to their community advising
processes of community action boards, work-
ing with institutions and why not with their own
media.
It is important that professionals engage
with their localities and from that recognizes
the realities of its context and think about the
contribution they can make from their work
areas. This is the most valuable of the project,
beyond the physical space is the social vision
and desire to work with such young communi-
cators.
