Bus-minibus collision death toll rises to 6
The number of people who died in a Boyolali, Central Java bus
crash hasincreased from four to six after two of victims finally
succumbed to theirinjuries on Sunday evening, police say.
The deceased were identified as Tarsini, 66, Sunari, 60, Minah,
55,Sukini, Endang Samiyatun, 25, and Alex, 5, according to Boyolali
Policespokesman Adj. Comr. Margono.
The two latest casualties died after receiving medical
treatment, he said
Another two victims suffered from serious wounds, while 16
others
sustained minor injuries. All the casualties were the passengers
of theminibus, and were members of one big family, Margono said as
quoted bytempo.com on Sunday
The large Sumber Kencono bus was allegedly speeding when it
crashedinto a smaller Isuzu Elf minibus, as it tried to make an
unsignalled u-turnback to Surakarta, Central Java. The collision
pushed the minibus more
than 10 meters away from the initial point of impact.
The minibus was originally coming from the direction of
Surakarta andheading toward Semarang, Central Java.Margono said all
the victims on the minibus came from Pati, Cental Java,and were on
their way to Bantu, Yogyakarta, for an engagementceremony.
