Tehran, 22 November 2015 (MPPRE). - Accompanied by the Chancellor, Delcy Rodrguez, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicols Maduro, arrived in the city of Tehran, in Iran, in order to participate in the 3rd Summit of the Heads of States and Governments of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) to be held in the Palace of the Summits of the Persian capital.
The President was received by the Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade of Iran, Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh, with whom he discussed issues of bilateral and multilateral interest in the context of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, an organization that manages more than the 42% of the production worldwide.
Venezuela will defend,- in this third meeting of the Heads of States and Governments-, its position for a balanced and fair pricing strategy of the natural resources so that the development of the countries is guaranteed.
Prior to the presidential Summit, the Minister of Peoples Power for Petroleum and Mining and President of Petroleos de Venezuela, SA (PDVSA), Eulogio Del Pino, participated in the 17th Ministerial Meeting of the Forum, which concluded with the adoption of a declaration to be signed by the Heads of States and Governments of the member countries of the organization.
The Gas Exporting Countries Forum was created as a multilateral initiative with a high impact in 2001, with the participation of strategic partners worldwide of the natural gas area, such as Russia, Qatar, Nigeria, Algeria, Egypt, Bolivia and Venezuela. PDVSA, YV
