Writing Task 1:
The diagrams bellow show the process of how uranium is used in
the production
of nuclear power.
The illustration depicts the progress of using uranium in
manufacturing nuclear
power. In general, the course embraces two principal phases
namely making
uranium fuel from uranium minerals and the usage of spent
fuel.
In the initial phase, uranium is exploited from entrails of the
earth. Afterwards,
uranium mineral is changed into vapour previously to the
enrichment of creating
U-235 fuel pellets. In the following stage, uranium fuel is
deployed in nuclear
power stations to distribute around seven billion kWh of
electricity per station
annually.
In the subsequent duration, spent fuel which was removed from
stations is taken
away and stored after the usage of 4 years. Following this, if
spent fuel was able to
retreated, it could be used again in the nuclear power station.
Otherwise, spent
fuel that are impossible to be reprocessed is preserved in
stainless steel tanks
previously to landfill deeply underground.
