Designed by golf mastermind Pete Dye, and his son, P.B. Dye, the new practice space features 48,000 square feet of teeing room, 13 target areas, and a 400 yard driving range – allowing for more golfers to improve their game at a variety of distances. Located just south of the 10th and 11th holes of the legendary Teeth of the Dog course, the new golf facility includes a dedicated, short-game practice area with pristine bunkers, challenging grass mounds, and unforgiving depressions designed to simulate true course play on all three exemplary courses at Casa de Campo. In addition, the putting green is planted with fresh Paspalum grass, the same type of grass found on the courses – allowing for continued consistency from practice to play.

El sábado, cuando Paul Chaplet , 16, de Costa Rica, brevemente tomó la punta de la tercera vuelta en el Latin America Amateur Championship con un águila en el hoyo 14, no miró el tablero y rápidamente cometió un triple bogey en el siguiente hoyo. El domingo, mientras se encaminaba hacia los hoyos finales sobre el mar en la cancha Teeth of the Dog en Casa de Campo, él sabía exactamente dónde estaba parado.
“Me di cuenta de que podía ganar este torneo cuando miré el tablero en el hoyo 14,” dijo Chaplet, quien está por empezar su último año en el colegio St. Mary High School en San José el mes que viene. “Estaba tres menos, y sabía que si podía hacer birdie en el 14, tendría un colchón en los últimos cuatro hoyos, tendría una oportunidad – y es exactamente lo que hice.”
