STATIONS OF THE CROSS (ENGLISH)

Starting on March 8th, the Stations of the Cross will be available in the Con-vent Chapel at 11:30 am during Lent. They will be followed by Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament at 12:00 noon. All are welcomed!

ADORATION OF THE MOST BLESSED SACRAMENT

Monday - Thursday: 12 noon to 3:30 pm. Friday: 12 noon to 7 pm. Monday - Thursday at 3:30 pm it will be reposed, but the Chapel will still be open to the public for personal prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.

ADORATION DURING THE NIGHT On the last Friday of each month there is night adoration of the Most Blessed Sacra-ment in the Convent Chapel, organized by the CERS community of our parish. The next Adoration night will be the night of Friday, March 29, from 7pm until 7am. We make this public announcement

to invite all those who want to participate to join this noble proposal: spend a time of adoration and prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, interceding, praying for all our many personal needs, our families, Church and nation.

LENT GUIDELINES

-FASTING is to be observed by all 18 years of age and older, who have not yet celebrated their 59th birthday. On a fast day, one full meal is allowed. Two other meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to each one’s needs, but together they should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted, but liquids, including milk and juices, are allowed. -ABSTINENCE is observed by all 14 years of age and older. On days of abstinence, no meat is allowed. Note that when health or ability to work would be seriously affected, the law does not oblige. When in doubt concerning fast and abstinence, the parish priest should be consulted.

MISA DE LOS LUNES 7 PM Durante el invierno, debido al reducido número de personas que asisten a la Misa de los lunes a las 7 pm en la iglesia de arriba, vamos a mover esa Misa a la Capilla del con-vento (todos los lunes excepto el primer lunes de cada mes, que la Misa queda en la Iglesia de arriba). De este modo ahorraremos energía y recursos. Gracias por su comprensión!

EL SACRAMENTO DEL BAUTISMO Hemos comenzado en la parroquia una nueva Pastoral Bautismal que es más completa y adaptada a las necesidades pastorales que se presentan. Se desarrolla del siguiente modo: 1.- ENTREVISTA INICIAL CON EL SACERDOTE. El día designado para las entrevistas bautismales es: Martes, de 2:00 pm a 7:00 pm, en las oficinas parroquiales.

2.- VISITA E INSTRUCCIÓN DEL EQUIPO BAUTISMAL. En segundo lugar, cada persona o pareja que va a bautizar recibirá una visita en su casa por parte de miembros del Equipo Bautismal que les instruirán sobre el bautismo en un ambiente de fe y cordialidad.

3.- CLASE BAUTISMAL. El penúltimo viernes de cada mes (8 días antes del bautismo) habrá una clase bautismal para padres y padrinos a las 7:30pm en la Capilla del Convento para explicar el rito del bautismo y su significado.

4.- BAUTISMO. El día del bautismo será publicado en el boletín de antemano con varios meses en antelación.

REGLAS DE LA ARQUIDIOCESIS DE BOSTON SO-BRE LA CUARESMA

-Abstinencia—Los Católicos mayores de 14 años de edad están obligados a la abstinencia. La ab-stinencia se observa el miércoles de Ceniza y to-dos los viernes de Cuaresma. No se puede con-sumir carne en los días de abstinencia. -Ayuno- Los Católicos entre 18 hasta 60 años están obligados a ayunar. Miércoles de Ceniza y Viernes Santo son días de ayuno. En estos días, sólo se permite una comida completa. Otras dos comidas sin carne, suficientes para mantener la fuerza, pueden tomarse de acuerdo a las nece-sidades de cada uno, pero juntas no deben igualar otra comida completa. Comer entre comidas no está permitido, pero los líquidos, incluyendo leche y los zumos de frutas se admit-en. En cuanto a otros días de la semana de la Cuaresma, se recomienda la participación en la Misa diaria y la observancia voluntaria de ayuno. Recomendable, especialmente durante la Cuar-esma, es la generosidad con los programas lo-cales, nacionales y mundiales para compartir nuestra abundancia, las devociones tradicionales de Cuaresma y todo tipo de abnegación que se resume en el concepto cristiano de "mortificación".
