1. Set up the milking machine according to the instructions inthis manual. Plug electric motor into heavy duty 3-pronggrounded power cord. For gasoline engines, pull starter cordonly after checking oil and gas level. Once motor engine isrunning, visually inspect clear tube on vacuum pump oiler tomake sure that oil is flowing to the pump.

a. With the vacuum cock (Fig. 4) in the closed position, thevacuum meter (Fig. 3) should read 50 kPa if milking Cows orBuffaloes, 44 kPa for Goats and 42 kPa for Sheep.

b. If not, the vacuum regulator (Fig. 2) can be adjustedby turning the housing until the desired vacuumlevel is reached.

c. Attach tubing from vacuum cock (Fig. 4) to adaptor nippleson the bucket lid (Fig. 5).

d. You are now ready to attach your claw to the bucketand begin milking.

2. The milking procedure.Before attaching the teat cups, the animal should be preparedby careful washing and drying of the teats. Hand strip theinitial milk. This helps stimulate the udder to let down themilk and also helps remove bacteria and impurities fromthe teat end.

1. Instalar la ordeñadora siguiendo las instrucciones detalladasen el presente manual. Conectar el motor eléctrico, por mediodel cable de alimentación tripolar, dotado de puesta a tierray apto para soportar cargas elevadas de trabajo. En caso demotores a gasolina, tirar de la cuerda de encendido sólo trashaber controlado el nivel del aceite y del carburante. Trasarrancar el motor, inspeccionar visualmente el tubo trasparentesituado en el lubricador de la bomba de vacío, con el fin deverificar que el lubrificante fluya correctamente.

a. Con el grifo del vacíoa (fig. 4) en posición cerrado, elvacuómetro (fig. 3) deberá marcar 50 kPa para operacionesde ordeño llevadas a cabo en vacas o búfalas, 44 kPa paralas cabras y 42 kPa para las ovejas.

b. De lo contrario, podrá modificarse la programación de laválvula de regulación del vacío (fig. 2), girando el cuerpo dela misma hasta alcanzar el nivel deseado.

c. Conectar el tubo del grifo de vacío (fig. 4) al niple deladaptador situado en la tapa del cubo (fig. 5).

d. Podremos conectar ahora el tubo de la leche al colector yal cubo y dar comienzo a las operaciones de ordeño.

2. Ordeño.Antes de conectar las pezoneras, el animal deberá serpreparado, por medio de un esmerado lavado y secado delos pezones. Ordeñar de forma manual la primera leche. Deeste modo, se estimularán las mamas facilitando la emisióndel líquido y haciendo posible la eliminación de las bacteriasy las impurezas presentes en el extremo del pezón.

a. Verificar, sujetando el colector con una mano, que lasventosas y las cápsulas estén inclinadas hacia los niples delcolector.

b. Abrir la válvula del colector, situada en el fondo del mismo.

c. Levantar y adherir, de rodillas cerca del animal, cada unade las ventosas.

d. Esta operación deberá efectuarse de manera rápida y eficiente,para evitar así entradas excesivas de aire que contaminan laleche y provocan dañosas fluctuaciones de vacío.

e. Una vez terminado el ordeño del animal, cerrar la válvuladel colector para interrumpir el vacío, evitando así el tenerque quitar las ventosas del pezón en condiciones de vacío.

f. Para vaciar el cubo, cerrar el grifo del vacío en el puntoque coincide con la fuente del vacío (fig. 4). Abrir luego laválvula del colector para volver poner el cubo bajo presión.

g. Asegurarse de no llenar el cubo demasiado, evitandoasí que rebose la leche en el depósito de equilibrado devacío. Si ello se produjera, el depósito de vacío deberá serlavado tras el ordeño.

3. Operaciones de lavado.Una vez terminado el ordeño, lavar inmediatamente el grupoy los cubos.

a. Mantener el colector volcado, de manera que las ventosasy las cápsulas estén dirigidas hacia abajo. Abrir la válvuladel colector. Sumergir, repetidamente, las ventosas en elagua de enjuague, aspirando el agua y el aire a través delcolector, hasta el cubo. Utilizar unos 10 litros de agua.

b. Cerrar el vacío y escurrir el cubo. Repetir el procedimientoindicado en líneas anteriores, añadiendo, esta vez, undetergente adecuado a los 10 l i tros de agua.

c. Cerrar el vacío y escurrir. Repetir el procedimiento de inmersión,añadiendo, ahora, un desinfectante en 10 litros de agua fría.

d. Lavar y enjuagar la capa, la guarnición y las superficiesexteriores de los cubos y de los grupos de ordeño.

e. Colgar el grupo de ordeño para que se seque.

f. Volcar el cubo para que el líquido se escurra, secar luegocon un trapo; las superficies de acero inoxidable deberánquedar libres de todo rastro de detergente, desinfectante o deagua dura. Dichos residuos podrían dar lugar, con el tiempo,a fenómenos de picado o corrosión. Un procedimiento correctode limpieza y secado es fundamental para preservar tanto laintegridad del equipo de ordeño como la salud del animal.

4. Mantenimiento periódico.a. Diariamente: controlar el nivel del aceite del depósito de labomba. Controlar el nivel del vacío. Controlar la frecuencia yla relación del pulsador. Controlar, y eventualmente limpiar, elorificio de entrada de aire del colector.

b. Cada 6 meses: limpiar la bomba de vacío. Las ventosasdeberán sustituirse cada 6 meses o cada 2.500 operacionesde ordeño.

c. Anualmente: sustituir todas las piezas de goma, lasguarniciones y los tubos flexibles.

d. En caso de que no se pretenda utilizar la bomba durantemás de un mes: limpiar la bomba con aceite de limpieza oqueroseno. Añadir aceite nuevo en la bomba. Accionar labomba durante unos minutos, al menos una vez a la semana.

a. Holding the claw in one hand, make sure the teat cups andshell drop (bend) over the claw nipples.

b. Open the claw valve on the bottom of the claw.

c. While positioned kneeling next to the animal, lift eachindividual teat cup and attach.

d. Try to do this in a rapid efficient manner so as not to losemilking vacuum.

e. When animal is finished milking, close the claw valve toshut off vacuum so as not to pull the teat cups off the udderunder vacuum.

f. To empty the bucket, shut off vacuum cock at vacuumsource (Fig. 4).Then open the claw valve to release vacuumin bucket.

g. Make sure not to overfill the bucket causing milk to floodthe vacuum tank. If this happened, the vacuum tank mustbe flushed after milking.

3. The washing procedure.After milking, the cluster and buckets must bewashed immediately.

a. Hold claw upside down so teat cups and shells hangdown. Open claw valve. Plunge the teat cups in and out ofthe rinse water to draw water and air through the claw andinto the bucket. Use about 10 litres.

b. Shut off vacuum and drain the bucket. Repeat aboveprocedure this time adding a suitable detergent to the 10litres of water.

c. Shut off vacuum and drain. Repeat plunging procedure, thistime with 10 litres of cold water with a sanitizing disinfectant added.

d. Wash and rinse lid, gasket, outside surfaces of buckets andclusters.

e. Hang clusters to dry.

f. Turn bucket upside down to drain, then wipe dry to be sureno trace of detergent, disinfectant or hard water is left on thesurface of the stainless steel. Over time this could cause pittingor corrosion. Careful attention to the cleaning and dryingprocedure is essential to preserve both milking equipment andyour animal s health.

4. Periodic maintenance.a. Every day: Check oil level on pump reservoir. Check vacuumlevel. Check pulsator rate and ratio. Check & eventually cleanthe claw air vent.

b. Every 6 months: Flush vacuum pump. Change liners every6 months or 2.500 cow milkings.

c. Every year: Change all rubber parts, gaskets and hoses.

d. If you are storing your pump for more than 1 month: Flushpump with flushing oil or kerosene. Put fresh oil in pump. Runpump for a few minutes at least once per week. M

The SupaSpray teat sprayer is entirely vacuum operated.The pump is positioned directly on top of the chemical drumand a flexible chemical tube with an in-built filter is loweredto the base of the drum.

The SupaSpray is an extremely efficient user of the vacuumsupply system. It only pumps if there is a need to build uppressure. Once the correct pressure is reached it willautomatically stop pumping, significantly reducing the wearof the moving parts.

The amount taken will depend upon the yield of the individualcow, speed of milking, type of parlour and the vacuum level. A minimum samplesize of 20ml is required and the Sample Bottle will hold a maximum of 200ml.
