In case you were not here last weekend, we announced at each Mass, the results of our Mission Appeal we had on August 8-9 from Fr. Tom Hagan who is working with the poor in Haiti. Over the last 5 years for the mission appeals the average amount that you donate is $13,000 with the best year being $20,000. We really want to thank you for the amazing amount that you gave for Fr. Tom’s appeal—you donated $40,000—incredible! Many of you have asked for more information about Fr. Tom’s mission in Haiti. He started a union of the dioceses of Haiti called Hands Together. You can go to their website www.handstogether.org to see the amazing things they are doing for the people to help raise them out of devastating poverty. You can even donate online at that site; or, if you prefer, you can mail your donation to a USA address (hint: don’t send checks to any address in Haiti). Many parishioners have asked me if we recorded his sermon; unfortunately we were not prepared for that. But several parishioners have already done research and have found Fr. Tom on YouTube with a similar sermon; in fact, at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2PKdaw15XE&app=desktop, you can not only hear and watch it, but also find links to his other sermons. He is truly amazing—a 73-year old man with a 25-year old’s enthusiasm! The “last call” for signing up for the ACTS retreat is fast approaching. The Men’s retreat will be September 17-20, and the Women’s will be October 15-18. You can find the registration forms on weekends after Mass in the Parish Center Foyer and during the week in our office. Hurry! Si usted no estuvo aquí la semana pasada, en cada misa anunciamos los resultados de nuestro llamado para las misiones que tuvimos el 8 y 9 de agosto por parte del Padre Tom Hagan que está trabajando con los pobres en Haití.
