Trefileras Quijano es la heredera de aquel taller de Puntas de Pars que en 1873 creara en losCorrales de Buelna, a las orillas del ro Besaya, D. Jos Mara Quijano. En etapas sucesivas sefue integrando la fabricacin hacia el alambre y, posteriormente, hasta el mismo acero. De igualforma, la gama de productos se extenda simultneamente y, ya en 1914, la S.A. Jos MaraQuijano estaba presente en todas las aplicaciones del alambre y de sus derivados.

Hacia 1940, nuestra empresa comienza con la diversificacin de su portafolio de negocio, sinabandonar el alambre, hacia la industria mecnica del automvil. En 1969 se logra un nuevohito en cuanto a la capacidad y volumen de tonelaje trefilado, situacin que marca un elementodiferenciador con respecto al resto de trefileras nacionales.

Casi 20 aos ms tarde, en 1987, el Grupo Celsa se interesa por la empresa convirtindola enTrefileras Quijano, S.A., nombre que actualmente nos representa y que desde entonces se ha idoconvirtiendo en un referente en el sector de la trefilera.

En 1988 la compaa se divide en dos entidades separadas, una para fabricacin de alambrn, enSantander, y la otra, Trefileras Quijano, dedicada a la fabricacin de alambres de acero, cordones

y derivados del alambre.

Finalmente, podemos destacar como un hito clave de nuestra trayectoria el ao 1999, pues seinici la andadura en el proceso de estampacin en fro.

Trefileras Quijano is the heir of the conical-tip nail workshop foundedin 1873 at Corrales de Buelna, on the banks of the river Besaya, byMr. Jos Mara Quijano. The workshop started manufacturing wire, andlater steel. The range of products grew as well, and already in 1914 theJos Mara Quijano company had a presence in all wire applicationsand its derivatives.

By 1940 our company began to diversify its business portfolio, withoutabandoning wire manufacturing, into the automotive engineeringindustry. In 1969 the company achieved a new milestone in terms ofcapacity and wire-drawing tonnage, a situation that set it apart from therest of domestic wire-drawing companies.

Almost 20 years later, in 1987, the Celsa Group became interested inthe company and re-named it Trefileras Quijano, S.A. This is the namewith which the company has gradually become a benchmark in thewire-drawing industry.

In 1988 the company split into two separate entities, one for productionof wire rod in Santander and the other, Trefileras Quijano, focused onmanufacturing steel wires, cords and wire products.

1999 was a key milestone in our history, when we started our coldheading business.

Asimismo, los diferentes acabados que ofrecemos son: Fosfato GARDOMER. Este tipo de acabado superficial permite grandes deformaciones con la mxima eficiencia. Fosfato jabn. Fosfato Cal. Sin fosfato.

Globulizacin:Nuestros alambres son recocidos en hornos de EBNER de ltimatecnologa con atmosfera de hidrgeno, asegurando globulizaciones

mayores al 85%.Templabilidad:Los aceros de boro son calmados con aluminio y titanio. Este sistemapermite la obtencin de una cantidad de boro soluble o activo capaz degarantizar la templabilidad del acero. El producto es sistemticamenteensayado siguiendo mtodos de dureza de temple y ensayo JOMINY afin de comprobar su respuesta al tratamiento de temple.

Globulisation:Cold heading qualities are annealed in state of the art EBNER furnaces(hydrogen atmosphere), ensuring globulisation over 85%.

Hardenability:Boron steels are killed with aluminium and titanium. This systemallows obtaining an amount of soluble boron that ensures the steelshardenability. The product is systematically tested according toJOMINY hardening and test methods to check the products responseto the hardening treatment.
