> SexosLa madrileña Plaza de la Cebada sigue asis-tiendo al éxito de Sexos. La fórmula queestá conquistando al público es sencilla: unacomedia en clave de monólogo salpicadapor los grandes tópicos de las relaciones depareja que desembocan en una parodiadonde nadie parece conocer todos losdatos. No faltan los personajes tipo: la pare-ja en crisis, el alma libre y la mujer que paraaclararse consigue liarlos a todos. El director,Pep Antón Gómez, pone en boca de estetelevisivo reparto una sucesión de textos lle-nos de ritmo y humor que consiguen su pro-pósito: atrapar al público. Juegos de pala-bras, símiles futbolísticos y sexo, mucho sexoson los argumentos necesarios para seducira un espectador que abandona el teatro sindejar de sonreír, y recordando alguno de losdivertidos diálogos.

The Plaza de la Cebada in Madrid continuesto witness the success of Sexos. The formulais a simple one: a comedy in the form of amonologue strewn with the most common-place clichés regarding couples which leadsto a parody where nobody seems to have allthe information. The typical characters areall there: the couple in crisis, the free spiritand the woman who in the process of sor-ting out her own situation manages to con-fuse everyone else. The director, Pep AntónGómez, gets this television cast to articulatea fast and furious succession of sidesplittingtexts which attain their goal: to get theaudience hooked. Puns, football analogies,and lots and lots of sex make up the plotsnecessary to seduce the spectator, who lea-ves the theatre smiling as he recalls some ofthe hilarious dialogues.

El Teatro Bellas Artes abre sus puertas para

recibir a los cinco espectáculos que forman

Andalucía a escena, una oportunidad magnifi-

ca para ver lo mejor del baile, teatro y música

de Andalucía.

El Centro Andaluz de Teatro presenta del 21 al

25 de octubre El Rey de Algeciras, una llamada

a la reflexión en una historia sobre la vida en el

último rincón de Europa. Le relevará en las

tablas el montaje Es Puto Cabaret de la compa-

ñía El Espejo Negro. Las marionetas más excén-

tricas y descaradas que tu imaginación llegue a

crear son las protagonistas de un esperpéntico

cabaret gracias a Marianna Travelo.

El 4 y el 5 de noviembre hay una cita de Ti-

me-ta-ble o el tiempo inevitable. Mientras

que el 7 y el 8 le toca el turno a la danza con

la compañía de Fernando Hurtado y su mon-

taje The other side.

Andalucía a escena termina con Ariadna. Del

11 al 15 de noviembre reviviremos una trage-

dia que representa las ansias por vivir, no sólo

por sobrevivir.

The Teatro Bellas Artes opens its doors to the

five shows which make up Andalucía a escena,

a wonderful opportunity to see the best of

Andalusia's dance, theatre and music.

From 21st to 25th October, the Centro

Andaluz de Teatro will present El Rey de

Algeciras, a call to reflection involving a story

about life at the edge of Europe. It will be

followed by the staging of Es Puto Cabaret,

by the company El Espejo Negro. The most

eccentric and cheeky puppets your

imagination can conjure up are the stars of

a caricaturesque cabaret, courtesy of

Marianna Travelo.

Ti-me-ta-ble o el tiempo inevitable will take

centre stage on 4th and 5th November. On

the 7th and 8th the focus will be on dance

with the Fernando Hurtado company and its

staging of The Other Side.

Andalucía a escena will end with Ariadna.

From 11th to 15th November, we will relive a

tragedy which expresses the yearning to live

rather than just survive.

Al frente dela compañía Rakatá, ha recuperado numero-sas obras del Siglo de Oro español, colabo-rando a su difusión internacional. Además,es director asociado de la RoyalShakespeare Company desde 2004 y harecibido numerosos premios por su trabajo.Tras su último éxito con El perro del hortela-no, regresa con este montaje de otra obrade Lope de Vega, en el que participan untotal de 35 actores.

Fuenteovejuna, written by Lope de Vega anddirected by Laurence Boswel,l will be presentedin the Auditorium at the Carlos III University inMadrid. Fuenteovejuna is one of the key worksof Spain's literary renaissance, known as theSiglo de Oro or Golden Age, in addition to beingone of the most important theatre works inworld history. Written by Lope de Vega in 1612,it contains the famous "all together" speech, withwhich the town's inhabitants rebelled againstinjustice and tyranny during the reign of theKing Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. Laurence Boswell is one of the United Kingdom'smost famous directors. As director of the Rakatácompany, he has recovered numerous works ofthe Spanish Golden Age, promoting them inter-nationally. In addition, he has been the associatedirector of the Royal Shakespeare Companysince 2004. After his most recent success with Elperro del hortelano, he now returns with thisstaging of another of Lope de Vega's works,involving 35 actors.

Madrid is ready to host another of theseason's performance events. Thechange of season heralds this year'sAutumn Festival, which, as in previousyears, is organized by the Communityof Madrid's Culture and Sports Council.This twenty sixth Autumn Festival willprovide the Community with 24 weeksfilled to the brim with theatre, dance,music and circus shows.The program is composed of 35shows, performed by 32 invited com-panies. The schedule envisages 142events, ranging from audiovisual per-formance to the most classical theatre.Amongst all of these, festival high-lights include 35 premieres, two ofwhich are world premieres. En esta obra, que tiene como eje cen-tral una relación de pareja, se pone de mani-fiesto la influencia de una cultura machistaque desestabiliza el equilibrio entre ambos. La creciente necesidad de independenciachoca frontalmente con las tendencias pose-sivas y asistimos a una representación magis-tral del conflicto de intereses entre hombresy mujeres.

preguntas que nos plantea la Compañía

catalana Tantarantana, que pasarán

por Cuarta Pared del 29 de octubre al

1 de noviembre.

Tomando a Virginia Wolf como punto

de partida, la directora Marta Gil Polo

no nos presenta un personaje, sino la

hipótesis de un Shakespeare mujer, una

voz colectiva que ha quedado sepultada

en el tiempo, un alma atrapada en una

dolorosa no existencia, la de la escritura

que no ha llegado a ser.

What would have happened if Shakespeare

had been born a woman? What if

Shakespeare's name had been Eileen

Shakespeare? Or, who is Eileen

Shakespeare today? These are some of the

questions posed to us by the Catalonian

Tantarantana Theatre Company, which will

be visiting Cuarta Pared between 29th

October and 1st November.

Taking Virginia Woolf as their starting

point, rather than presenting us with a

character, director Marta Gil Polo presents

us with the hypothesis of a female

Shakespeare, a collective voice which has

remained entombed in time, a spirit trap-

ped in a painful nonexistence, that of all the

works which have never been written.

APUESTA POR LA CREACIÓN

El Teatro de la Laboral es una pieza más de

Laboral Ciudad de la Cultura. Abrió sus puertas

en octubre de 2007 y, desde entonces, han pasa-

do por su escenario más de cien compañías.

Ofrece un programa artístico diferente, que une

exhibición, coproducción y producción. Atiende a

la demanda y objetivos de la creación contempo-

ránea; reúne a artistas de diferentes proceden-

cias y disciplinas; e implica a instituciones y

estructuras de otros países en proyectos de crea-

ción. La exhibición es la parte más visible, pero

sólo una parte. El proyecto dirigido por Mateo

Feijóo interrelaciona diversos programas de

trabajo, como el de ayudas a la creación -tanto

desde la coproducción como desde las residen-

cias- y el de formación, a través de talleres y

mediación cultural.

El pasado 9 de octubre, el Teatro inauguraba su

tercera temporada con una producción propia.

Una pieza de Rocío Molina, una de las mejores

jóvenes bailaoras de flamenco de los últimos

tiempos. Una vuelta al flamenco en su estado

puro, un solo de danza de Rocío bajo la dirección

artística de Carlos Marquerie y el cante de

Rosario Guerrero y Encarna Anillo.

La programación continuó con otra producción

del Teatro, esta vez de la mano de Angélica

Liddell, que estrenó el día 16 de octubre La Casa

de la Fuerza y que según la propia dramaturga

"es la obra en la que con más frenesí he intenta-

do buscarle un sentido a la vida. Es mi pequeño

acto de resistencia frente a una cultura basada

en lo banal".

The Teatro de la Laboral is one more addition to

the Laboral Ciudad de la Cultura. Since opening

its doors in October 2007, over a hundred com-

panies have performed on its stage. It offers an

unusual artistic programme which brings toge-

ther staging, coproduction and production. It ser-

ves the requirements and objectives of contem-

porary creation, brings together artists of diffe-

rent origins and from different disciplines, and

involves institutions and structures from abroad

in creative projects. Although the exhibition is the

most visible part, it is only one part. The project,

which is directed by Mateo Feijoo, interrelates

different work programmes such as aid to crea-

tion - both through co-production and from

through residencies - and training, by means of

workshops and cultural mediation.

On 9th October ninth, the Theatre opened its

third season with a production of its own: a

piece by Rocco Molina, one of the best young

flamenco dancers in recent times. A return to

flamenco in its pure form, a dance solo by Rocco

under the artistic direction of Carlos Marquerie,

with the singing of Rosario Guerrero and

Encarna Anillo.

The programme continued with another Theatre

production, La Casa de la Fuerza by Angelica

Liddell, which premiered on 16th October, and

which, according to the playwright herself, "is the

work in which I have pursued the search for a

meaning in life with the most passion. It is my

small act of resistance in the face of a culture

based on the banal."

Si la pasada temporada el Teatro alcanzó un granposicionamiento en el ámbito internacional conacciones patentes como el encuentro de programa-dores del British Council, que por primera vez sehizo en España, esta temporada el Teatro ha acogi-do la edición especial del satélite IETM (RedInternacional de Artes Escénicas Contemporáneas)con el objetivo de que los profesionales de las artesescénicas conocieran el contexto cultural de la corni-sa cantábrica a través del proyecto del Teatro de laLaboral y también del Festival BAD de Bilbao. El mes de noviembre destaca por la presencia de lagran dama de la danza alemana: Susanne Linke,quien retoma en Schritte verfolgen II su pieza delmismo título, un solo estrenado en 1985 y considerado como uno de sus trabajos más impac-tantes y personales.Del 8 al 20 de diciembre, en la Plaza de Toros deGijón y en colaboración con el Teatro Jovellanos, elTeatro de la Laboral trae a Gijón un espectáculo sor-prendente para toda la familia: Secret, de la compa-ñía Cirque Ici. Una obra sin precedentes en la que sepodrá disfrutar del circo (sin pan ni payasos), delexpresionismo, la disciplina corporal, la lucidez ácida,el humor, el descaro, la imaginación, el impactovisual y la fabulación…La primera parte de esta temporada se inaugurócon una pieza de flamenco, y se cierra con otra, esta

vez de Tomatito, quien presenta su último álbumAguadulce el día 23 de enero. El Teatro de laLaboral sigue por lo tanto, con una programaciónescénica innovadora, una amplia presencia de ladanza y el teatro contemporáneo y también de lamúsica escénica.

If during the previous season, the Theatre attainedinternational prestige by means of visible actionssuch as hosting the British Council programmers'conference, held in Spain for the first time, thisseason the Theatre hosted the special edition ofthe satellite IETM (International Network forContemporary Performing Arts), so that perfor-ming arts professionals could get to know the cul-tural context of the Cantabrian coast through theTeatro de la Laboral, as well as the Bilbao BADFestival project. El primer texto teatral de Joan Lluis

Bozzo, Cómica Vida, sigue causando sen-

sación hasta el último día de mes en el

Teatro Fernán Gómez. Tras su gira por

varias ciudades, la apuesta de la compa-

ñía Dagoll Dagom por los montajes en

pequeños formatos ha causado sensación

y todo el público ha podido saborear la

calidad del montaje.

Tanto Cómica Vida como Cosmética del

Enemigo ceden su puesto sobre las tablas

a los montajes del Festival de Otoño.

La Temporada de Navidad se estrena con

el montaje La Caja de Juguetes de la

compañía Etcétera. El montaje, que es

estreno absoluto, contará con un pianis-

ta, un quinteto de viento, actores y títe-

res, todo esto acompañado de una gran

cantidad de juguetes animados que nos

harán volver a la infancia.

text, Cómica Vida, continues causing

the Theatre Fernán Gómez. After his

tour along several cities, the bet of the

company Dagoll Dagom for the plays in

small formats has caused sensation and

all the public could have savoured the

quality of the spectable. Both Cómica

Vida and Cosmética del Enemigo yield

his position on the tables to the plays of

the Autumn festival.

The Christmas Season has the premiere

with the play La Caja de Juguetes of

the company Etcétera. This absolute

premiere, will rely on a pianist, a wind

quintet, actors and puppets, all that

accompanied of a great quantity of ani-

mated toys that they will make us

return to the infancy.

El Festival Iberoamericano de Cádiz llega con lasúltimas novedades teatrales de ultramar en laque es su vigésimo cuarta edición. Con unaextensa programación heterogénea, diversa ymultiplural, tiene como eje central la autoría con-temporánea, la basada en textos no teatrales ylas nuevas versiones de clásicos universales. Noes ni mucho menos casualidad que esté conside-

rado por los aficionados y por la crítica especiali-zada como uno de los acontecimientos mássobresalientes del calendario nacional y uno delos más valorados por su repercusión en el uni-verso escénico a ambos lados del Atlántico.Hasta el 31 de octubre el Gran Teatro Falla, la Sala Central Lechera, el Baluarte de laCandelaria y la propia calle serán los escenariosde esta muestra. El FIT llega a Cádiz con compañías procedentesde Argentina, Bolivia, Brasil, Chile, Colombia,Costa Rica, Cuba, México, Perú, Uruguay,Venezuela y de distintos puntos de España. Laprogramación de esta edición se abre con lapuesta en escena de una obra del autor gadita-no Francisco Quiñones, una producción impulsa-da desde la Consejería de Cultura de la Junta através del Centro Andaluz y que está protagoni-zada por Rafael Álvarez, El Brujo. El cartel deeste año es obra de Jesús Ruíz Durand, afichistay diseñador creativo con una amplia trayectoriainternacional, y evoca a una pareja de seres míti-cos basados en el estilo de la iconografía de lasierra centro-norteña de Perú.

Además de un completísimo catálogo de mon-

tajes, los actos complementarios del Festival

incluyen certámenes como el XIII Encuentro de

Mujeres de Iberoamérica en las Artes Escénicas,

que dará buena muestra de cómo se vive el tea-

tro desde la perspectiva femenina.

El Museo Nacional de Teatro también hace su

aportación a través de la exposición La moda

y los clásicos: Elio Berhanyer, Jesús del Pozo,

Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Montesinos, Miguel

Palacio, Ana Locking y Devota y Lomba

se arrojan al vacío de la libertad para vestir

el escenario.

Esta edición del FIT convoca a los Foros de

Creadores bajo un tema general que servirá de

entorno al coloquio necesario, generado siempre

a partir de los procesos creativos que sustentan

los espectáculos presentados en la muestra, así

como sus consecuentes resonancias entre los

espectadores.

La riqueza de tópicos que convergen en la

muestra teatral del FIT de Cádiz 2009 permite

convocar una reflexión conjunta de artistas y

estudiosos del teatro, junto a personas

dedicadas a otras esferas del saber que se

materializará en el III Encuentro de Crítica

Cruce de Criterios.

In addition to a full catalogue of stagings,

additional festival events will include competi-

tions such as the 13th Conference of Latin

American Women in the Theatre Arts, which

will provide a good example of how women

experience theatre life.

The National Theatre Museum will also make a

contribution by way of the exhibition La moda y

los clásicos: Elio Berhanyer, Jesus del Pozo,

Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Montesinos, Miguel

Palacio, Ana Locking and Devota and Lomba ven-

ture into the uncharted terrain of artistic freedom

to dress up the stage.

This year's Festival Iberoamericano de Teatro

organizes the Creators Forums in keeping with a

general theme which will serve as the setting for

the necessary discussions, which will always arise

out of the creative processes which provide sup-

port to the shows presented in the collection, as

well as out of their impact on audiences.

The richness of the topics which converge at the

2009 Cádiz FIT theatre collection permits a call

for a meeting of the minds involving artists and

theatre specialists, as well as those in other

spheres of knowledge, which will take the form

of the III Encuentro de Critica Cruce de Criterios

(III Criteria Crossroad Conference).

La Muestra de Cine Europeo Ciudad de Segovia(MUCES) abre las puertas de su cuarta edición a par-tir del 18 de noviembre. Una cita marcada en elcalendario cultural de la capital segoviana y que cadaaño trata de superar su nivel de calidad. Este certa-men cinematográfico tiene como misión principal ladifusión de películas producidas en la Unión Europea. Isidro Ferrer, ganador del Premio Nacional de

Diseño en 2002, es el responsable del cartel

de esta cuarta edición. Una imagen con la

que pretende continuar la línea marcada por

el estudio Carrió Sánchez Lacasta el año

pasado, que incluía un collar de ojos sobre un

maniquí. En este 2009, un caracol con pesta-

ñas, un caracol que es un ojo es el protago-

nista de la imagen da por Ferrer. Según su

creador, "esta es una imagen que refleja una

forma de mirar, una forma de mirar deteni-

da, sosegada, hasta cierto punto perezosa,

contraria a esa otra manera de mirar sin ver,

rápida, inmediata, y escurridiza. Es la forma

de mirar que requiere un tipo de cine, ése

que está cuidado y mimado en el detalle,

como el que se verá en esta muestra. Es un

cartel que requiere la participación del lector,

con una imagen clara y sencilla, pero rotunda

y enigmática".

No es de extrañar pues que la ciudad del

acueducto se convierta durante esos días en

el punto de encuentro de los más destaca-

dos profesionales del cine. Pasear por

Segovia del 18 al 24 de noviembre implica

cruzarse por las calles con nutridos grupos

de productores, realizadores, distribuidores,

actores, guionistas y críticos que le dan un

ambiente de película.

Isidro Ferrer, winner of the National Prize of

this fourth edition's program. Delivering an

round and enigmatic image".

It's not of surprising that the city of the

Aqueduct turns during these days into the

meeting point for the most out-standing pro-

fessionals of the cinema. To walk along

Segovia from November 18 to November 24

implies crossing for the streets with crowded

groups of producers, distributors, actors,

scriptwriters and critics who will transform

the city into a movie set.

El precio en ambos casos es de 690 euros por persona encompartimento doble, y de 850 euros en compartimentoindividual. León leyenda y memoria es la propuesta que la Concejalíade Turismo ha puesto en marcha con el fin de descubrir alvisitante los rincones más inéditos de la ciudad. Este folle-to contiene dieciséis itinerarios que permiten conocerespacios emblemáticos a través de leyendas o curiosidadesque han tenido lugar a lo largo de los siglos. De esta forma, el turista será quien se marque su propiaruta, el horario y todo de manera gratuita. Además de lasrutas, se incluye un mapa con los puntos de interés y uncuaderno del viajero donde plasmar las impresiones ynotas dignas de recuerdo. LA RUTA DEL CID> CALATAYUD

Una joya en la historia de la Comarca de la Comunidad deCalatayud es la Ruta del Cid en sus tierras. Siguiendo elBarranco de Hoya Bardón se llega hasta la villa de Ariza,próspera ciudad que en la Edad Media se constituía comocabeza de aldeas. Es de paso obligado seguir el trayectoque pasa por Cetina, con su gran palacio señorial, Alhamade Aragón, Bubierca y Castejón de las Armas, hasta llegara Ateca. Si dejamos el Jalón a la derecha, entre Ateca y Terrerencontramos los pocos restos de lo que fue el castillejo deAlcocer, desde donde se disfruta de una preciosa vista delvalle, para pasar después por Terrer y partir a Calatayud,que conserva aún grandes muros y torreones de la épocadel Cid. Tomando la cuenca del Jiloca nos toparemos conlugares como Paracuellos de Jiloca, Maluenda, Velilla,Morata y Fuentes de Jiloca, Montón y Villafeliche.

Por las tardes siempre está en elcafé de la esquina. Es alto, gigantón, y mues-tra una burlona expresión natural en el rostroalargado. Viste de manera informal: jeans,zapatillas de ante y polo de rugby. En elbarrio le conocen a él y también a la cadenade electrodomésticos de su familia. Por lasmañanas da un paseo largo con Ben, su pas-tor alemán, y después sale a comer condu-ciendo su todoterreno, con el perro grande ysereno y bondadoso erguido en la parte deatrás observándolo todo a través de la amplialuna trasera.

Antes de caer la tarde se ducha,se peina y se pone un polo de rugby limpio ybien planchado. Sale de casa dejando unaestela de colonia en las escaleras, en el ascen-sor y en el garaje. Al llegar al café da un vis-tazo preciso y se sienta a la barra y pide unronconcocacola. Los grupos van reuniéndosey, aunque nadie lo diría, le gustaría formarparte de cualquiera de ellos.

Cuando se marcha, el parpadeoluminoso de su coche le hace recordar a Beny la melancolía acostumbrada del regreso sele desprende en parte como la ladera nevadade una montaña. Después salen juntos en lanoche y Ben le sigue sin separarse de su lado.Juegan en el parque con una pelota de gomade colores antes de volver.

La casa está a oscuras, pero sufigura se ilumina por la luz que sale del tele-visor enorme como una pantalla de cine. Benestá a su lado, sobre la alfombra, y su pelajese funde en ella. Hoy ponen una de acción deNicolas Cage que ya ha visto pero le gustótanto que quiere repetir. Hoy se siente bien,casi feliz. Pero otras veces, en la misma posi-ción, una lágrima solitaria se desliza sobresus largas mejillas hasta mojar su polo derugby limpio y bien planchado.
