Resumen:

• Existen evidencias tipo A que en pacientes con Riesgo Quirúrgico Intermedio los resultados de TAVI a corto/mediano plazo son equivalentes a los de la SAVR

• Existen algunas evidencias de Tipo B que en pacientes con Bajo Riesgo Quirúrgico (BRQ) los resultados de TAVI a corto/mediano plazo son equivalentes a los de SAVR

• Los pacientes de BRQ son de menor edad y viven mas que los de Riesgo Alto/Intermedio

• La sobrevida media de personas de 65 años en USA es de 18/20 años. A los 80 años la expectativa de vida es 9/11 años

• Las Endoprótesis Aórticas sufren un Deterioro Estructural que está relacionado con el tiempo y que es mayor a partir de los 8 años

Conclusiones:

• TAVI podría considerarse un procedimiento de elección en pacientes de Bajo Riesgo Quirúrgico mayores de 75/80 años

• En pacientes menores de 75 años la indicación de TAVI se debe basar en la consideración individual de cada caso, en particular relacionado a las morbilidades asociadas y a la expectativa de vida
