Somos profesores de Sociales, no de inglés

¿Cómo se enseña?
Seleccionando qué materiales deben explicarse en castellano y cuáles pueden trabajarse en la L2.
Explicar el tema en L1 y hacer ejercicios en L2.
Estando coordinados con nuestr@s compañer@s que imparten L2. Por ejemplo, pedirles que les enseñen a manejar el pasado antes de que nosotros empecemos la parte de Historia.

Consejos para un profe bilingüe
No te preocupes por la pronunciación, trata de ser comprensible. La mayoría de las conversaciones en inglés que tendrán lugar en el futuro será entre hablantes no nativos.
Mezcla el Inglés y el Español. No utilices el Español como vendas para explicar lo que no entienden. Si haces eso los alumnos esperarán que hagas la traducción.
Hay que utilizar el triple de imágenes que en una clase monolíngüe.
Crear ambiente
Es importante que nuestro alumnado se entusiasme con el proyecto bilingüe para que se involucre en él.
Usar la L2 para situaciones cotidianas de la clase como pedir ir al baño, para volver al aula...
Pedir con L2 los materiales más usuales en el aula. Can you give me a pencil?. Good morning! See you tomorrow!
Usar fragmentos de películas, bandas sonoras, o canciones para arrancar la clase o como elemento motivador.
¿Con qué enseñamos?
No existe un material adaptado a nuestras necesidades en ninguna editorial. (Nivel de inglés muy alto o Nivel de contenidos muy bajos)
Tampoco podemos usar los libros de texto que se usan en los Institutos ingleses. (No suelen ser generalistas)
Nuestra labor, por tanto, será la de localizar materiales de diversas fuentes para realizar los nuestros.
