•Título: Los Piratas Espanglish hablan sobre las fiestas típicas de sus países.

Title: Pirates explain their typical holidays from their countries.

•Funciones: Aprender más sobre las tradiciones de nuestros socios como Halloween, Diwali or Carnaval.

Functions: To know more about other people’s traditions such as Halloween, Diwali or Carnnival.

•Temas del Currículo: practicar la teoría explicada en los diferentes cursos de

Secundaria en relación a las fiestas. Por ejemplo, practicar el vocabulario que

habla sobre las fiestas o la teoría explicada sobre el Presente Simple para

explicar los que se hace normalmente en nuestros países en estas fiestas.

Topics of the curriculum: the idea is to practice the theory studied in the

different courses of Secondary school in relation to talking about holidays. For

example, practicing the vocabulary related to holidays or the theory explained

about the Present Simple to explain what it is usually done in those holidays in

our countries.

•Objetivos:

•Aprender a hablar sobre las fiestas típicas de nuestros países como Halloween, Diwali o Carnaval.

•Los alumnos de cursos inferiores deberán aprender a contar historias sobre

estas fiestas con expresiones más sencillas.

•Los alumnos de cursos superiores deberán coger confianza a la hora de utilizar

expresiones más complicadas para contar lo que hacen en estos eventos.

•El objetivo principal será que los alumnos adquieran confianza a la hora de

expresarse por escrito en otro idioma

•Ver que es un idioma real, que otros jóvenes utilizan para comunicarse y

apreciar la utilidad del idioma extranjero.

Objectives:

•To learn to talk about a typical holidays of our countries such as Halloween, Diwali or Carnnival.

•Students in lower courses will learn to tell stories about these holidays with easier expressions.

•Students in higher courses will get confidence in expressing themselves in a different language.

•The main goal will be that all the students get confidence when writing in a foreign language.

•Another important goal will be that students see the foreign languages they learn in

class are real and used by students of their same age.

•Actividades:

•Los estudiantes trabajarán en los ordenadores y buscarán cómo celebran

Halloween los dos países

•Los estudiantes harán un collage o en papel o en el ordenador.

•En relación al Diwali, los estudiantes ingleses enviarán tarjetas y dibujos.

Los españoles buscarán información en Internet sobre qué es el Diwali y

cuándo se celebra.

•En cuanto a Carnaval, los estudiantes harán intercambio de tarjetas y

máscaras contando cómo lo celebran.

•Un alumno español presenta lo que vamos a hacer en este tema en un

vídeo: guía Comenius.

Activities:

•Students will work on the ITC on Halloween, how both counties celebrate it.

•Students will have to look for the information on the Internet and create a collage

•Students will create a collage either on paper or on computers.

•In relation to Diwali, English students will send some cards and pictures. Spanish students

• will look for the information on the Internet, what is it? When is it celebrated?

•In relation to Carnival, students will exchange cards telling how they celebrate it

•Saber algo más sobre las costumbres inglesas y las nuestras.

•Mostrar interés y respeto por el proyecto

•Aplicar la teoría aprendida en la clase para producir la lengua

•Mostrar respeto por el nuevo país y cultura estudiado, por las clases y por sus compañeros

Evaluation: At the end of the didactic unit, students will be able to:

•To extract general and specific information on the Internet in relation to a topic.

•To read and speak about their traditional costumes.

•To apply the linguistic knowledge acquired to produce language.

•To show interest in the activities proposed.

•To show respect for the new culture studied, for the lessons and for their classmates.
