Granada in Nicaragua
Picture-perfect Granada, the first city founded by the Spanish on the Pacific side of Nicaragua, one of the oldest cities in the Americas.The place to feast on gourmet local produce, excellent rums and the best cigars in the world, you would be also surrounded by the aroma of organic coffees and local pastries.Lets not forget music and fun!...
Granada is situated on the shore of Lake Nicaragua, was formerly the capital of Nicaragua and undoubtedly still the country's tourism capital. From its past it retains the colonial aspects which attracts so many tourists world wide.Near the city are the 365 Islands destination of thousands of tourist and locals for their natural beauty, breath taking views and a spectacular backdrop of Mombacho Volcano, that gave birth to the Islands of Granada.

Islands of Granada
All of the islands are covered with lush vegetation, rich with bird life. Many of the islands are occupied, most are privately owned or vacation houses to the wealthiest families of Nicaragua. There are facilities for residents and for tourists. Hotels and shops are established on some of the islands, boating and airplane tours are available.
The Granada's Islands,a true marvel of nature, created by fire and water.The Islands are located in Lake Nicaragua just minutes southeast of the city of Granada in Nicaragua. They are a group of 365 islands scattered about,the Asese peninsula. They are of volcanic origin, and they were formed when thousands of years ago the Mombacho volcano, now dormant blew much of its cone into the lake, thereby creating the archipelago.
