LOS NÚMEROS NOS HABLAN No sólo encontramos números en clase de matemáticas. Forman parte de nuestra existencia cotidiana y conocerlos nos ayuda a entender más lo que pasa a nuestro alrededor. Vamos a estudiarlos desde diferentes perspectivas, relacionándolos con el lenguaje y desarrollando así nuestra competencia matemática.

Al término de la secuencia, serás capaz de hacer ad ivinanzas y rimas con

números.

¿Qué vas a aprender?

TAREA 1 ACTIVIDAD 1 Lee el texto atentamente -Busca en el diccionario las palabras que no entiendas. -Busca en Internet “Serie de Fibonacci” y observa la relación con el número PHI. -Busca en YOUTUBE ejemplos de relación de phi con la Naturaleza (teclear “divina proporción”). -Busca también “el hombre de Vitrubio” e infórmate de la proporción de las partes del cuerpo humano y su relación con el número áureo.

A Pitágoras le debemos el nacimiento de las matemáticas como ciencia. Pitágoras nació en la isla de Samos, en el año 582 a. C. y ya desde niño aprendió a tocar la lira, a escribir poesía y a instruirse en la “magia “de los números. Según él y sus seguidores (pitagóricos), la esencia del mundo físico es matemática y el número natural es el origen, fundamento y explicación de todas las cosas. La escuela pitagórica organizó el saber en cuatro ramas: Aritmética, Geometría, Música y Astronomía, todas ellas con una intensa relación con los números. Esta escuela y su filosofía proporcionan la primera visión cosmológica del universo físico, según la cual el universo se rige por un orden y su armonía depende de los números. Los pitagóricos consideraban a los números como los componentes últimos de los objetos materiales. Más o menos como nuestros átomos. El símbolo de los pitagóricos es el pentagrama o polígono estrellado de cinco puntas, que contiene el NÚMERO ÁUREO o de oro (phi).Este número ha sido el patrón de armonía y un símbolo de perfección en todas las Artes: arquitectura, pintura, escultura…y en la Naturaleza y hasta en los objetos más cotidianos de creación humana.

PLANIFICACIÓN DEL TRABAJO

Ahora, una vez que conoces un vocabulario matemátic o y has trabajado diferentes actividades relacionadas con los números, vas a int entar hacer adivinanzas y rimas con ellos. PASO 1 Teclea en Google “adivinanzas de números”. Lee las que hay y selecciona 5 ó 6, que se refieran a números distintos. PASO 2 Luego, haz tú adivinanzas del mismo estilo .Si no te salen, no te preocupes. Inténtalo con rimas. Ejemplo: “Con el tres y el cuatro Te presento tu retrato” (Puedes hacer el dibujo) “El tres, como una serpiente.¿Ves? “¿Qué número no vale nada a la izquierda de cualquier número?

Numbers are not only part of our maths lessons. Getting to know them can help us understand better the world around us. We are studying them from different perspectives, including their relationship with language. This is one of the best ways of developing mathematical competence.

Pirates of the Caribbean is a series of adventure films directed by Gore Verbinski, written by Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. They are based on a Walt Disney theme park ride of the same name, and follow Captain Jack Sparrow (portrayed by Johnny Depp), Will Turner (portrayed by Orlando Bloom), and Elizabeth Swann (portrayed by Keira Knightley). The films started with their first release on the big screen in 2003 with Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. After the unexpected success of the first film, Walt Disney Pictures revealed that a trilogy was in the works. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest was released three years later in 2006. The sequel proved to be very successful, breaking records worldwide the day of its premiere. In the end it acquired a total of $1,066,179,725 at the worldwide box office, becoming the fourth and fastest film to reach this amount. The third film in the series, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End was released in 2007. So far, the film franchise has grossed over $2.68 billion worldwide. In September 2008, Depp signed on for a fourth film in the franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, set to be released on May 20, 2011.

a. On May 24, 2007, the film earned US$58 million worldwide in its first 2 days, and earned the fifth-biggest three-day opening, breaking the Memorial Day weekend record of X-Men: The Last Stand, with a domestic gross of $142 million. The addition of the Thursday screenings brought the opening total to $156 million. Elsewhere, it grossed $205 million, bringing the worldwide opening gross to $332 million. By June 13, 2007, the film had grossed $500 million overseas in 20 days, breaking Spider-Man 3's record for reaching that amount the fastest. The film has grossed an estimated $961 million worldwide , making it the highest grossing film of 2007, and the 8th highest-grossing film worldwide.

b. It eventually made its way to $654,264,015 worldwide ($305,413,918 domesticallyand$348,850,097 overseas), becoming the fourth highest grossing film of 2003.

c. The film broke two North American records upon release, largest opening day gross with $55.8 million, beating the previous year's Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith by 11%, and biggest opening weekend gross with $135.6 million, beating 2002's Spider-Man. The film set 15 other box office records, including the fastest film to reach $200 and $300 million, the highest ten-day gross, and the fastest film to reach $1 billion worldwide.
