Problema:
1. Si: x2 + x−2 = 5 y x > 1, calcular el valor de:
x3 − x−3
Solucion: Recordemos que a3− b3 = (a− b)(a2 + ab+ b2), ademas no olvide que x2 + x−2 = 5
es lo mismo que x2 +1
x2= 5.
Denotemos x3 − 1
x3= E, luego
E = (x− 1
x)(x2 + x2 1
x2+
1
x2)
E = (x− 1
x)(x2 + 1 +
1
x2)
E = (x− 1
x)(5 + 1)
E
6= x− 1
x
Elevando al cuadrado tenemos
E2
36= x2 − 2x
1
x+
1
x2
E2
36= 5− 2
E2 = 36× 3 = 62 × 3
como x > 1 entonces E tienes que ser positivo, finalmente la solucion positiva de la ecuacioanterior es
E = 6√
