¡Hola de nuevo desde mi Blog! Os traigo este post en el que os voy a contar mi última escapada de este mes de mayo… Acabo de llegar con mis “papás” a El Campello, un destino pet friendly en la Costa Blanca y, aunque, sólo llevamos dos días aquí os puedo asegurar que me está encantando y que, visto lo visto, cumple con todos los requisitos para ser un destino amigo de las mascotas ¡Qué bien que no tenga que quedarme en una residencia canina! ¿verdad?
Estamos en un camping muy agradable y familiar (me han contado que hay 2 más igual de entrañables), con todos los servicios que se puedan necesitar y muy cerca de todo en el que ya he hecho algunos amigos con los que jugar. Como amigos también he hecho en la tienda de mascotas, en la playa Can de Punta del Riu y en el Parque de Perros frente a Jardines del Mar.¡Ah! Y los paseos por El Campello tienen sabor a historia…
Hi again and welcome back to my Blog! In this post I’m going to tell you about my holiday in May... I’ve just arrived in El Campello with my ‘parents’. It’s a pet friendly destination on the Costa Blanca and, although we’ve only been here for two days, I am absolutely loving it. All things considered, it ticks all the boxes as a pet friendly destination. I’m so happy I didn’t have to go into kennels! You know?
We are staying on a very welcoming family-friendly campsite (I’ve been told there are another two here that are just as lovely), with all the services you could need, and it’s so close to everything. I’ve already made a few friends to play with. Like the friends I also made at the pet shop, at the dog-friendly beach in Punta del Riu, and at the Dog Park opposite Jardines del Mar.Ah! And walkies around El Campello have the scent of history…
Me encanta el de la Voramar de les Escultures con La Torre de La Illeta, testigo de las incursiones de piratas berberiscos hace más de 500 años, como gran protagonista… a ver si me vuelven a llevar porque me crucé con un “peludo” bien apuesto al que no me importaría volver a ver…¡jajaja!
Mañana, me han prometido llevarme a la otra Playa Can, la del Barranc d’Aigües que está en un lugar super bonito, una zona de alto valor paisajístico en cuya loma se encuentra otra torre vigía del s. XVI, la de la Lloma de Reixes –les he oído comentar- y, por la tarde, me llevarán al otro parque de perros (cerca del Ayuntamiento) en el que hay unos largos tubos para entretenerse un rato… seguro que encuentro a más compañeros de juego.
Estas vacaciones prometen y ya me encargo yo de que volvamos a venir a El Campello en alguna escapada de invierno (¡¡¡ja, ja, ja!!!) Me han contado que algunos hoteles admiten nuestra presencia en temporada baja… Me gusta mucho esa propuesta también, así que os aseguro que volveré, y, …os iré contando
I love walking around Voramar de les Escultures with La Illeta Tower, which witnessed incursions by Berber pirates over 500 years ago… I hope we get to go there again, because I met a ‘hairy hunk’ who I wouldn’t mind seeing again... LOL!
Tomorrow, they have promised to take me to the other dog-friendly beach, Barranc d’Aigües, which is in such a pretty spot, with stunning landscapes, guarded by another watchtower dating from the 16th Century, Lloma de Reixes –so I’ve heard- and then, in the afternoon, they’re taking me to another dog park (by the town hall), where there are some long tunnels that should keep me entertained for a while... I’m sure I’ll find more playmates there.
This holiday promises to be unforgettable, and I’ll make sure we come back to El Campello for a winter break (hahaha!!!) Apparently some hotels allow us to stay there during the off-peak season… I really like this proposal as well, so I can assure you that I’ll be back and... I’ll keep telling you my stories.

Queridos Susan y Peter: ¡Encantados con El Campello es poco! Nos ha recibido con un magnífico tiempo, nada sofocante para estar en julio, muy cerquita de las Fiestas del Carmen (¡¡ya se huelen en el ambiente, como nos dijisteis!!)
De las recomendaciones que nos distéis para disfrutar de nuestras vacaciones ya hemos hecho algunas que os contamos para que veáis que somos obedientes:
1. Paseo matutino y ver amanecer en la Playa del Carrer la Mar… Ciertamente, no hay palabras, mucho mejor vivirlo.2. Desayuno Mediterráneo ¡Cómo nos ha gustado el zumo natural de naranja y esas tostadas con aceite y tomate! Y ¡Qué atento el servicio!3. Paseo (y compras) por el mercadillo de los miércoles: frutas, verduras, flores, ropa, calzado, souvenirs ¡Ah! Y ya hemos probado esos churros que tanto nos recomendasteis ¡Deliciosos!
4. Paseamos por su casco urbano y descansamos a la sombra de un magnífico ejemplar de ficus mientras esperábamos la llegada

Dear Susan and Peter, to say we are delighted with El Campello is an understatement! We were greeted by some wonderful weather, not at all too hot, given that it’s July, very close to the celebrations for the Fiestas del Carmen (we can already smell it in the air, just as you said we would!!)
As per your recommendations for our holiday enjoyment, we’ve already done the following things you suggested, so you can see how obedient we are:
1. Morning walk, and watch the sun rise on the Playa del Carrer la Mar... Truly, there are no words. Much better to experience it first hand.2. Mediterranean breakfast. We loved the freshly squeezed orange juice, and the toast with oil and tomato! And such attentive service!3. Stroll (and shopping) around the Wednesday market: fruit, vegetables, flowers, clothes, shoes, souvenirs. Ah! And we tried the ‘churros’ you suggested. Delicious!

del TRAM ¡Es un estupendo medio de transporte y las vistas que ofrece de toda la costa son geniales! Ya hemos ido a Alicante, La Vila Joiosa y Benidorm... La próxima semana nos acercaremos hasta Dénia pasando por Altea y Calpe, como nos comentasteis.
5. Tampoco hemos perdido la oportunidad de darnos un largo paseo al atardecer y de disfrutar del ambiente de bares, cafeterías, restaurantes y pubs del Carrer la Mar ¡Ganas de que empiecen las “festes”! ¡Ya queda poco!
6. Esta tarde iremos a ver un espectáculo de Jazz en la Casa de Cultura y, de paso, aprovecharemos para ver la Exposición temporal y el Museo FAMEC, como nos aconsejasteis.
Nos despedimos dándoos las gracias por recomendarnos este estupendo lugar en el que, como nos asegurasteis y estamos constatando, no hay tiempo para el aburrimiento… sí para el relax y el disfrute de la vida. Permitidnos que sigamos disfrutando y ya os adelantamos que queremos volver para las próximas Fiestas de Moros y Cristianos ¿vamos reservando los billetes de avión para octubre?

4. We walked around the town and rested in the shade of a magnificent fig tree while we waited for the TRAM to arrive. What a wonderful way to travel, and the views of the whole coastline were magnificent! We’ve been to Alicante, La Vila Joiosa and Benidorm (next week we’ll head towards Dénia, passing by Altea and Calpe, as you suggested)
5. We also haven’t missed out on the opportunity to take a few long evening strolls to enjoy the atmosphere of the bars, cafés, and pubs on the Carrer la Mar. We can’t wait for the “festes” celebrations to begin! Not long to go now!
6. This afternoon we will go and see a Jazz concert at the Casa de Cultura, and also take in the temporary exhibition at the FAMEC Museum, as you advised.
That’s all for now. Thank you so much for recommending this great place to us. It’s just as you said, there really is no time to get bored here... although plenty of time to relax and enjoy life. And so, if you’ll forgive us, we are off now to enjoy a bit more. We plan to come back for the Moors and Christians Festivity. Should we book our flights for October now?

Un año más repetimos vacaciones estivales en El Campello ¡nos encanta venir a la Playa de Muchavista! Aunque, ya sabéis que, este año es distinto porque son las primeras vacaciones de Marina… ¡Su carita al tocar el agua y la arena vale millones!. Aitana ejerce muy bien como hermana mayor y está super feliz enseñándole a hacer castillos.
Once again this year we have decided to spend our summer holiday in El Campello. We love coming to the Muchavista beach! Although this year is different because it’s Marina’s first time on holiday... Seeing her little face when she touches the water and the sand is priceless! Aitana is being a wonderful big sister and she’s very happy teaching her to make sandcastles.

Crear el hábito y gusto por la lectura es una gran iniciativa… Disponer de dos BiblioPlayas es todo un acierto ¡Qué bien lo hemos pasado leyendo juntos! Y esta tarde, Aitana asistirá a la ludoteca que ofrece actividades todas las tardes.
Enhorabuena a la Concejalía de Turismo por la Gymkhana del Pirata del Llop Marí ¡Qué bien lo hemos pasado y cuánto hemos aprendido a través de la Ruta Monumental! Aitana super contenta con los regalitos conseguidos ;) ¡muy simpátic@s est@s chic@s de la Tourist Info!
Encouraging reading as a habit and a preference is a great initiative. Having two Beach Libraries is such a good idea. We’ve had a really great time reading together! And this afternoon, Aitana is going to the beach play centre, which offers activities every afternoon.
Our congratulations to the Department of Tourism for the Pirate Gymkhana of Llop Marí. We had such a great time and learned so much through the Monumental Route! Aitana was so happy with all the little presents she got And the Staff at Tourist Info were so nice!
Paseando por El Campello y jugando en el Parque Central… nos gusta hacer la ruta de los parques y jardines ¡Mañana iremos al de Hello Kitty! ¡¡Ah!! Y el sábado tenemos “Cine a la Fresca” en la playa ¡Una gozada! ¡¡Ya os daremos un poco de envidia!!
Walking around El Campello and playing in the Parque Central… we like visiting all the parks and gardens. Tomorrow we’re going to the Hello Kitty one! Ah!! And on Saturday it’s time for the outdoor cinema at the beach. So incredible! We are making you jealous!!
