LITURGIA DEL DIA / TODAY’S LITURGY Primera Lectura: Jeremías 20: 10-13 En aquel tiempo, dijo Jeremías: "Yo oía el cuchicheo de la gente que decía: 'Denunciemos a Jeremías, denunciemos al profeta del terror'. Todos los que eran mis amigos espiaban mis pasos, esperaban que tropezara y me cayera, diciendo: 'Si se tropieza y se cae, lo venceremos y podremos vengarnos de él'. Pero el Se-ñor, guerrero poderoso, está a mi lado; por eso mis perseguido-res caerán por tierra y no podrán conmigo; quedarán avergon-zados de su fracaso y su ignominia será eterna e inolvidable. Señor de los ejércitos, que pones a prueba al justo y conoces lo más profundo de los corazones, haz que yo vea tu venganza contra ellos, porque a ti he encomendado mi causa. Canten y alaben al Señor, porque él ha salvado la vida de su pobre de la mano de los malvados". Palabra de Dios, Te alabamos, Señor Salmo Responsorial: Salmo 68 Escúchame, Señor, porque eres bueno. Segunda Lectura: Romanos 5: 12-15 Hermanos: Por un solo hombre entró el pecado en el mundo y por el pecado entró la muerte, así la muerte paso a todos los hombres, porque todos pecaron. Antes de la ley de Moisés ya existía el pecado en el mundo y, si bien es cier-to que el pecado no se castiga cuando no hay ley, sin embargo, la muerte reinó desde Adán hasta Moisés aun sobre aquéllos que no pecaron como pecó Adán, cuando desobedeció un man-dato directo de Dios. Por lo demás, Adán era figura de Cristo, el que había de venir. Ahora bien, el don de Dios supera con mu-cho al delito. Pues si por el pecado de uno solo hombre todos fueron castigados con la muerte, por el don de un solo hombre, Jesucristo, se ha desbordado sobre todos la abundancia de la vida y la gracia de Dios. But death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who did not sin after the pattern of the trespass of Adam, who is the type of the one who was to come. But the gift is not like the transgression. REFLEXION DOMINICAL VALEMOS MÁS QUE LAS AVES
Una mamá puede pasar noches enteras sin dormir pen-sando en una enfermedad o un problema de uno de sus hijos. Un padre de familia se podría angustiar por su situa-ción de inmigración, porque le falta trabajo o porque la situación económica familiar parece deteriorarse aún más y se ve desesperada. Trabajamos mucho y hay veces en que parece que el mundo se nos echa encima. ¿Qué va a ser de nosotros? Puede que el peso de las cosas nos deprima y nos haga sentir abandonados por Dios; o puede que nos enfrentemos al mal en las muchas mane-ras en que aparece a nuestro alrededor: envidia, ambición, mentira, infidelidad. En muchas películas y series vemos que, por muy malvados que sean los persona-jes, muy grandes las mentiras y mucho mal que hagan, al final todo se descubre y triunfa la justi-cia. Sabemos desde el principio que eso ocurrirá, pero queremos verlo para asegurarnos de que el mal no gana-rá. Parece que esperamos secretamente que lo mismo ocurra en nuestra vida; pero a veces las situaciones que enfrentamos no se resuelven inmediatamente o a nuestro gusto. Entonces nuestra fe nos dice que, al final, todo lo que está escondido se revelará y que Dios está de nuestro lado, porque somos más importantes para Él que todas las criaturas a las que cuida con tanto amor. Esta seguridad, por supuesto, no nos quitará de repente la inquietud; pero podemos hacer un acto de fe y de amor en ese Dios Padre, que nos dice que valemos más que las aves del cielo y que las flores del campo. Podemos fiarnos de que él no nos abandonará nunca; que al final, mien-tras nos esforcemos por hacer las obras de Dios, que son las obras del amor, tendremos la victoria.
Para la reflexión ¿Qué cosas me están preocupando en este momento? ¿Cómo se las confío a Dios? ¿Estoy convencido de que para Dios soy importante? ¿Cómo me lo demuestra Dios diariamente?
WE ARE GREATER THAN BIRDS
A mother can spend many nights without sleep, worrying about any illness or problem with one of her children. A father can anguish over the situation with his immigration status, the lack of employment or because the family’s economic situation seems to deteriorate even further and
appears desperate. We work a lot and there are times when it seems our world is collapsing. What will become of us? The weight of these things caus-es us to become depressed and feel abandoned by God; or we may be confronting evil in the many ways it appears in our surroundings, such as envy, greed, lies and infidelity. In many movies and TV series we see that no matter how evil the characters are, how much they lie, and how
much evil they cause, in the end, everything is revealed and justice triumphs. We know from the beginning of the story that it will end this way, but we always watch just to make sure evil does not triumph. It seems as if we secretly expect the same to happen in our own lives; but some-times the situations we face are not immediately resolved or realized to our liking. Then our faith tells us that, in the end, everything hidden shall be revealed and God is our side because we are more important to him than any of the creatures he cares for with so much love. This sense of security, of course, will not immediately take away our restlessness; but we can make an act of faith and love in God the Father, who tells us we are worth more than the birds in the sky and the flowers in the field. We can trust that he will never abandon us; that in the end, as we strive to carry out God’s works, which are works of love, we will attain victory.
For Reflection What things am I worried about at the moment? How do I trust them to God? Am I convinced that I am important to God? How does God demonstrate it to me every day?

La importancia del misionero
Desde que inició el cristianismo Jesucristo les ordenó a sus discípulos que fueran misione-ros. La orden es clara y directa: "Id por todo el mundo y predicad el evangelio a toda criatu-ra" (Marcos16:15). Después de algún tiempo los cristianos, ya sea por huir de las persecuciones o cumplir con el mandato, predicaron el evangelio por todo el mundo. En nuestros días es difícil pensar que exista un lugar en el mun-do en donde no conozcan de Jesús de Nazaret. Hay cuestiones que hoy se han analizado para determinar si las palabras de Jesucristo siguen vigentes o es necesario hacerlas a un lado porque ya se han cumplido. Una de estas cuestiones es el tra-bajo del misionero. Brevemente presentaré una reflexión del misionero y su trabajo.
¿Que es el trabajo misionero? En la actualidad significa enseñar el mensaje de Jesucristo a personas de culturas diferentes a la del misionero. Generalmente se piensa en aquellas sociedades que no han escuchado el evangelio o en donde la penetración de este ha sido muy débil. Podemos añadir aquellas regiones en donde se tiene un evangelio distorsionado.
¿Cómo se hace el trabajo misionero? Un misionero debe prepa-rarse primero. Las áreas de preparación son el estudio de la Biblia y las doctrinas cristianas, el conocimiento de la sociedad a donde irá (historia, costumbres, organización política y so-cial, y las leyes) y el idioma o dialecto. El segundo paso es adaptarse a la sociedad. Deberá visitar la sociedad y conocerla personalmente. Finalmente deberá adaptar el mensaje del evangelio a la sociedad para que este se entienda en el sentido que tiene y pueda haber conversiones. El objetivo del misione-ro deberá ser el de formar iglesias locales dentro de esa socie-dad y ayudarlas hasta que puedan ser autónomas y crecer bajo su propio impulso, pudiéndose decir que una vez logrado esto el misionero habrá cumplido su trabajo satisfactoriamente.
Resumen: El trabajo del misionero es importante y necesario en nuestros días. Todavía hay muchos lugares que viven apar-tados de Dios. Existe un gran avivamiento en la cual ya ha em-pezado a enviar misioneros a otras partes del mundo. Que Dios bendiga la obra de aquellos que extienden su reino y pe-lean la buena batalla. Amén.
ORACIÓN AL CORAZÓN DE JESÚS POR LOS MISIONEROS Corazón de Jesús, tiende una mirada hacia las tierras de infie-les y hacia los trabajos de los misioneros, quienes, por tu amor y por el de las almas, tan preciosas para Ti, han abandonado su casa, su patria y sus cariños más íntimos. Bendice sus trabajos y concédeles la gracia de repartir el pan de la divina Palabra entre los mendigos de la Verdad. Hazles sentir que Tú estás con ellos en sus trabajos y preocupaciones, y dales la gracia de
perseverar hasta el fin en la vida de abnegación para la que los has escogido: Sagrado Co-razón de Jesús, por amor de tu misma gloria, protege los es-fuerzos de tus Misioneros. Amén.
MISSIONARY WORK The importance of missionaries
Since the beginning of Christianity Jesus Christ ordered his disciples to be missionaries. The command is clear and direct: "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15). After some time, Chris-
tians, whether by fleeing persecution or fulfilling the mandate, preached the gospel throughout the world. In our day it is difficult to think that there is a place in the world where they do not know Jesus of Nazareth. There are questions that have been analyzed today to determine if the words of Jesus Christ are still in force or need to be set aside because they have al-ready been fulfilled. One of these questions is the work of the missionary. I will briefly present a reflection of the missionary and his/her work. What is missionary work? Today it means to teach the message of Jesus Christ to people from cultures different from the mis-sionary’s. It is generally thought of those societies that have not heard the gospel or where the penetration of this gospel has been very weak. We can add to this list those regions where the gospel has been distorted. How is missionary work done? A missionary must prepare first. The areas of preparation are the study of the Bible and Chris-tian doctrines, the knowledge of the society where it will go (history, customs, political and social organization, and laws) and language or dialect. The second step is to adapt to the society. You must visit the society and meet it personally. Fi-nally, the missionary must adapt the message of the gospel to the society so it is understood in the right sense and thus, fa-cilitate conversions. The objective of the missionary should be to form local churches within that society and help them until they can be autonomous and grow under their own impulse, in the hope that once this has been achieved the missionary will have fulfilled his work satisfactorily. Summary: Missionary work is important and necessary in our day. There are still many places that live apart from God. There is a great revival in which he has already begun to send mis-sionaries to other parts of the world. May God bless the work of those who extend their kingdom and fight the good fight. Amen.
PRAYER TO THE HEART OF JESUS FOR THE MISSIONARIES O, Heart of Jesus, look at the lands of infidels and the work of the missionaries, who, for your love and for the souls so dear to you, have abandoned their home, their homeland and their most intimate affections. Bless their labors and grant them the grace to share the bread of the divine Word among the beg-gars of Truth. Make them feel that You are with them in their labors and worries, and give them the grace to persevere to the end in the life of self-denial for which you have chosen them: Sacred Heart of Jesus, for the sake of your own glory, protect the efforts of your Missionaries. Amen.
