“Think of things, experiences, anything that makes you Filipino,”ani Jennermann sa blog. “I willcollect all the different ideas,”aniya, “then the journey begins.”
“I have never experienced a cul-ture like the Philippines,’” aniya,“a culture that goes through a lotof really tough times and sufferingbut still shares a great big smile.”
“They were a hardworkingbunch, yet they always seemed tobe so happy,” ani Jennermann.

I AM INTO comic books.Among my favor i tes are“Avatar: The Last Airbender,”“Detective Conan,” “Dorae-m o n ” a n d “ T h e B e s t o fArchie.” Ever since I was akid, I’ve loved watching car-toon shows on TV. Now, Ic o l l e c t d i f f e r e n t c o m i cbooks—even Japanese man-ga. I like reading about thepowers of the characters in“Avatar.” I prefer books thathave visuals. When I am notreading comic books, I usu-ally watch animated showson Cartoon Network. It’s mystress-buster. Bayani SanDiego Jr.

I READ the novel “Di-ary ng Panget” by HaveYou Seen This Girl, beforewe started shooting themovie. I think it became ahit because of the story. Itspeaks with the voice ofthe youth. Anyone can re-late to the story—whetheryou’re a popular kid or anerd, beautiful or awk-ward. You see the points ofview of both the girl andthe boy. It helps a youngperson broaden his or herperspective. I met the au-thor during our secondpress con for the movie. For one so young, she hasachieved so much. BayaniSan Diego Jr.

Opposite of villainessWhen you hear Gladys
Reyes’ name, you associate itwith villain roles. The kontrabi-da shows her soft side in hertalk show, MOMents (Saturdays,7 to 8 p.m. on Net 25), now onits 25th season.
The show features celebs andtheir inspiring stories, parentingstyles and family values. Gladys’kids (Christophe, Aquisha andGrant) have their own segment(“Kiddie MOMents”). It remindsus that we are the sum total ofall the moments and memoriesin our lives. We should never be
too busy to spend moments andmade memories with our lovedones.
Here’s my tête-à-tête withGladys:
Who is your most memo-rable interviewee?
Madame Imelda Marcos. She gave us a tour of her homein San Juan and allowed me toask personal questions.
How has your friendshipwith Judy Ann Santos evolvedsince Mara Clara?
Judai and I became closerwhen we had children. We areboth hands-on moms. I considerher my “consistent friend.” Wedon’t have to see or talk to eachother often to preserve ourfriendship.
What makes your marriagework?
Its basic foundation is faith.Prayers, patience and partner-ship.
What would you advise as-piring kontrabidas?
Take advantage of every op-portunity to showcase your tal-ent. You can be the most hatedkontrabida, but you must learnfrom your character and be theopposite in real life. Love yourwork, savor every moment andalways be grateful.
MJ foreverWe had a heartwarming
commemoration of MichaelJackson’s fifth death anniver-sary—the MJ WorldCry.
Members of MJ Fans ClubPhilippines gathered at Café’80s last June 25. We paidhomage to the King of Pop bydisplaying our MJ memorabiliaand showing a video of previ-ous MJ WorldCry events.
We lit candles that formedthe letters M and J, scatteredpetals of red roses (MJ’s faveflower), as we prayed for our
idol and sang Cry.We had an MJ cupcake tower
and letter cakes that spelled“MJ Forever,” courtesy of Fer-nando’s Bakeshop, and an MJphoto booth, courtesy of NicePrint Photo.
Highlight was the song num-ber of “X Factor” finalist PauloCastro, who sounds a lot likeMJ. He sang MJ’s ballad GoneToo Soon and MJ’s fave, Smile, plus a bonus Janet Jackson hit,Again.
Another highlight was thedance number of the best MJimpersonator I’ve seen, JuliusDoria.
GMA7 News covered theevent (special thanks to JessicaSoho and Aubrey Carampel).
It certainly felt like Michaelwas with us in spirit. Go onmoonwalking with the angels,MJ, and heal the world that justcan’t stop loving you.
