The Amur tiger is one of 9 subspecies of tiger. Three of the 9 subspecies are extinct, and the
rest are listed as endangered or critically endangered by the IUCN.
The tiger’s traditional range is through southeastern Siberia, northeast China, the Russian Far
East, and northern regions of North Korea.
What Does It Eat?
In the wild : Large hoofed animals like roe deer, sika deer, goat, wild pig, sheep and sometimes
domestic livestock.
At the zoo: Special feline diet and bones.
Tigers live and hunt alone except for mating pairs or females with cubs.
