“Show Your Pride” St. Turibius Parish is selling fleece jackets, polo shirts, t-shirts and hoodies with our new Parish Logo. Order forms and samples are in the back of church on display. Please complete an order

form and either drop it in the collection basket or return to the rectory.

What a wonderful way to show your “St. Turibius Pride” as our Parish Familycelebrates our “90th Anniversary” this year.

We are planning to replace the Church rug and have major work done on our Church organ. This fundraiser hopefully will defray some of the cost.

Thank you for your continuous support!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

As we begin the month of August, we notice that our “Summer Schedules” are beginning to come to an end. There are more commercials to buy those supplies for the

new school year. Also, we have only one more outdoor Mass that will be celebrated on Thursday, August 10.

There is also another event that we will be celebrating as our Summer is coming to an end. That event is our Annual Parish Festival. This year our parish festival will be held on

SATURDAY, AUGUST 19TH. It will begin with a tri-lingual Mass at 4:00 p.m.. After Mass, our parish parking lot will be set up for games, dancing,

bingo, music, a train for the kids (and adults) and, of course, food from the three cultures of our parish.

The festival has become an event that brings us all together. This year, our parish festival is part of our celebration of our 90th birthday as a faith community. It has become a time that

allows us to experience the diverse cultures that are part of our parish community.

As usual, we will be raffling off a TV set. To get a ticket for this raffle, you have to come to church on Sunday, August 13. There will be one ticket given to each adult who attends Mass

on that day. To win the TV, you have to be present at the time of the raffle.

If you would like to help us set up, clean up or offer some of your time to help with the ga-mes for the kids and adults during the festival, please contact the parish office.

During our parish festival, I want to ask all the members of the parish to consider filling out a questionnaire. It is very simple and has only one question. The question is....

BEING PART OF THE ST TURIBIUS FAMILY MEANS TO ME(US)......

Our hope is to have your comments be part of our 90th Anniversary celebration which will be held on November 11, 2017. More information will follow.

“Show Your Pride” La Parroquia está vendiendo chaquetas, polos, sudaderas y camisetas con nuestro nuevo

Estimados Hermanos/as en Cristo,

Drodzy Bracia i Siostry w Chrystusie,

Podczas naszego parafialnego festiwalu chce poprosic wszystkich czlonków parafii, aby rozwazyli wypelnienie kwestionariusza.

Pytanie brzmi...

ST VINCENT DE PAULFOOD OF THE MONTH CLUB

Once again, we're running low on one of the favorites in our food pantry. Seems like the kids just can't get enough

of these. So, during the month of August, we are asking for your help with donations of the following food items.

CANS OF SPAGHETTI-Os

Your donations can be placed in the box located in the vestibule of the church when you come to Mass, or they can

be taken to the Rectory during normal business hours.

Please take this opportunity to help all the needy families in our parish.

Thank you for your donations and may God Bless You for your generosity.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SAVE THE DATE

SEPTEMBER 9TH AND 10TH, 2017BUNDLE WEEKEND IS BACK

Thanks to your enthusiastic response, and many requests for more of these, the St. Vincent De Paul Society will be sponsoring

another Bundle Weekend in September.

Just as we asked of you last May, if you have usable clothing and household items, we would be grateful if you would bundle these items in storage/garbage bags and save them for us. Clothing of

any size and type is welcome, as well as household items, dishes, pots, towels, linens etc. Please, no furniture or toys. This mer-

chandise will be taken to the St. Vincent De Paul Resale Center to be used to assist the people that we serve.

We will have a truck in our parking lot from The St. Vincent De Paul Society on

Saturday, September 9th, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.,on Sunday morning, September 10th, from 9:00 to 2:30 p.m.

Someone will be there during these hours to help you unload your donations from your car. Please do not bring items before or after

these hours, because no one will be present to take them from you.

Right now, we are just asking that you "SAVE THE DATE" and start saving items for us that you no longer need. Thank you in

advance for your help, and may God Bless you for your generosity to the poor.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do you, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

Eyewitnesses Today, the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, is a day of eyewitness accounts. The first, a vision reported by the prophet Daniel,

was well known to Jesus and his apostles. The vision account was written in quite mystical and figurative language. It is a vision of heaven, powerful and memorable. There are flames of fire, burning wheels, the Ancient One, and a Son of Man. Clearly, Daniel saw

something. But was it a dream? Was it real? Was it merely a clever myth?

Peter wants no such confusion about his vision! We are told in Matthew’s Gospel what he and his friends James and John saw when they went up on the mountain with Jesus one day. Jesus warned the three witnesses to tell no one until “the Son of Man has been raised from the dead” (Matthew 17:9). Lest readers of one of the Gospels discount the story or simply write it off as a pious myth, Peter gives his own account of the Transfiguration of Jesus in his second letter to the church. He writes with authority, as an eyewitness. He reports this message from God concerning Jesus: “This is my Son, my beloved, with whom I am well pleased,” and he assures us that

the message is “altogether reliable” (2 Peter 1: 17-19).

Prayer For Our Neighorhood

St. Turibius Parish Festival will be held this year on

Parish Mission Statement

We Believe that God is Love, and when we live in love we live in God and God lives in

us! Therefore we, the Parish Family of Saint Turibius, dedicate ourselves to living out

Christ’s Great Commandment: we will love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength, and we will show our love for God

by the way we love and care for one another. To this end, we will respond to our baptismal

call, strengthened by the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and empowered by

the Holy Spirit. As a Family of Faith that has an Attitude of Gratitude for the gifts God has given to us, we will share our time, our talent

and our treasure with each other. We welcome into our parish family all people, because we

believe that together we are the Body of Christ and together we can bring the love, peace,

forgiveness, healing, and joy of Christ into our community in ways we never could have if we were to remain apart. May all who meet us, who worship with us, who work and play with

us, know we are Christians by our love!
